Lax vs sna

Is flying into LAX much more complicated than SNA? I will be traveling solo and using the Disneyland Express?

Whenever I go to DL I fly into SNA it is quicker and cheaper than LAX. I use Super Shuttle find it quicker and better than DE. Cost R/T this past August was 19.00

We have flown into LAX 8 times and SNA once (will be doing SNA in a few weeks again). Never had an issue with LAX except for flying home on a Sunday and the place was packed . We then have changed to doing a fly home on Sat. since then. On our last trip we got a good deal on SNA as LAX is usually cheaper by $50pp for us. We loved the airport. DL Express runs at both. This trip we got SNA $100 pp roundtrip from PDX so we opted to go with SNA again and it is 20 min. closer.

I don't think it's complicated. LAX is big, but you only come into one area of it, so that's simple. I would try to arrive during the time that the bus comes every half hour so you don't have the chance of waiting 55 minutes or so, if you miss one that leaves just as you're getting in.

Just know that it's further away (obviously), and depending on when you get in compared to when the bus is, it can be around 2 hours after you get your luggage, until you get to the resort (and that's without traffic).

I think that our family has decided to go for SNA in the future, simply because of the time aspect, and b/c we like to arrive early (which means once-an-hour pickups), and the 2 or so hours is just too hard on us with a little kid. On the other hand, we like flying Virgin America, and I believe their SNA flights stop first in LAX anyway, so....not that much time being saved.

We've flown in and out of both SNA and LAX. LAX is a large airport, but manageable. If we had our druthers, we'd pick SNA every time. Unfortunately for us, LAX is usually cheaper. SNA is a much smaller airport and just seems less complicated. Not sure what the airline industry will be doing in regards to new security. You can be sure that at LAX it will increase the wait time at security by quite a bit. If you can, I'd pick SNA, besides, it's closer.

Fly from Tucson to LAX non-stops, cost about 87.00 each way

Fly from PHX- SNA about same price but then, I have to pay for shuttle to Phoenix. This adds 75.00 plus 2 hour shuttle ride

Fly from Tucson- SNA, again just about the same price but do not have to do shuttle to Phoenix BUT I will need to connect in LAS both ways


What would you do? I am traveling solo, this is a bit of a mommy escape so I do not need to commando in parks. I will not be checking luggage. I did fly in/out SNA last year from Phoenix and it was easy but the fare combined with shuttle was significant savings that I didnt seem to have the dilemma..LOL

So wait...where would you change planes? Las vegas? Well I think I would look at both itenaries and add an hour bus onto the LAX time and see what is faster....Personally, I think I would rather go to LAX then change planes in Vegas. What if you are late and miss the connecting flight? What if the connecter has issues...Go direct!

I would totally eliminate the flight with a connection option, and only look at direct flights.

For our family, if the tickets into SNA were within $100 of a flight into LAX, it was worth it for us to pay the extra $$ and fly into SNA. Our time on vacation is precious, and LA traffic can be brutal. Even if you're on the Disneyland Express, it can add a lot of time to your commute to DLR and we would rather just get there.
