Repost: We already have free shuttle service arranged with the Disney Express Bus but we're thinking of doing a car service instead. The idea of being on a bus from LAX to DLH with DS has me second guessing it.
Has anyone used LAX Transport? They have been the cheapest so far but I'm wondering if its too good to be true. Thoughts?

Are you referring to the Grayline Disney Express bus? If so we use it all the time. We live in Hawaii and go 1-2 times a year and I don't like driving in L.A. . We love this transportation. It's very comfortable, it runs every 30 min from LAX and it usually has a Disney movie playing for the trip to your hotel. I have tried other services but I didn't like them. They were to expensive, not comfortable and the drivers were crazy drivers. I hope this helps. Here's the phone # 1 (800) 938-8933for the Grayline Disney Express bus & the website www.graylineanaheim.com and click on the Shuttles page.

We have the Grayline shuttle for free because I won a trip and the transportation is included. I guess my concern is that the bus will take over an hour or more to drop us to the hotel and I'm not crazy about being on a bus with a very excited and anxious 5 year old.

LAX Transport is a car/taxi service that I was looking to use instead.

Cool
And I don't blam you on the wait, that's my concern too

Keep in mind the bus is the only transpertation that does not require a car seat
The travel time will be the same, where you can end up "wasting" time is based on how many stops the bus needs to make based on who is staying where

depending on traffic, a car service could take well over an hour from LAX too though.

Don't do those van shuttles. I was just in LA and the shuttle we had was horrible. It smelled musty, it was dirty and the driver was a maniac. I was so overwhelmed by the germs in the van I wouldn't sit back in the seat, was worried things would get in my hair. Now the shuttle back was a little better but not much.

So, what do you recommend as the best way to get from LAX to DL? I was thinking the Grey Line shuttle, the round trip $99 family pass, would be the way to go. Is there a better way? We have 2 adults, 2 kids. A taxi is probably big bucks, right?

I'm fully expecting the ride to take us an hour or so but I'm guessing the gray line bus is probably going to be even longer depending on the stops. I just don't want to be on a bus for 2 hours with DS.

Once the Grayline bus picks up at LAX the next stop will be Disneyland Hotel. It depends on what Hotel you are staying at that will determine how many stops you will need to sit through. I always use the Disneyland Grayline Express Bus, it really doesn't take longer than Shuttles. It's cheaper for the most part, it's cleaner and definitly more comfortable and the driver doesn't drive like a maniac. Plus they usually play a Disney movie in the bus for the trip and that will help distract the kids.

I use the Disneyland Grayline Express bus always and I think it's the best and most in expensive way to go. I've tried other options like shuttles and rental cars but this is by far the best option for me and my family. I hope this helps.

I've booked a transfer for us through 4most coach $98 one way LAX to DLR (includes 15% driver gratuity). I've read good first hand reviews of them, and email correspondence has been excellent. It may, or may not save us time, but at least I'm not gonna be looking at my watch every moment (from touch town in LAX, through immigration and bag collection), and stressing about making the DL Express (from what I can see they only come every hour). It's a bit procey for only three of us but I'm willing to pay to have this all arranged in advance. Btw, that rate is a flat rate for 1-8 people :) I'll definitely post back on our experiences with them after our trip.

I believe the DL Express comes every 30 minutes from LAX. You can check out their website http://graylineanaheim.com/shuttles.shtml for complete and correct information. The cost is $99 for a family of up to 5 and that cost is for a round trip pass which covers your family's transportation to and from your hotel. I hope this helps and clarifies things for you. I have tried other shuttle services and was always disappointed.

Thanks for the link but unfortunately it doesn't help us a great deal. Our flight should arrive shortly after 6am, and since we should be some of the first people off the plane, I'm hoping we'll be clear of immigration and baggage by 7am. The first DL Express Bus is at 7:30am, so we'll either have a wait, or if the plane's running late, then the next one is not until an hour later (the bus only runs every half hour between 10:30am and 4:30pm) - not the sort of thing you want to do after a 13hr flight (we would've left home 21 hours earlier). On top of that, our flight out of LAX is an early morning one (too early for DL Express), and even though we're going to stay near LAX the night before, I don't fancy leaving DL 2 hours before park closing so we can catch the last bus back to LAX. Because we can't buy the return ticket on DL Express, our one way tickets will cost us $66, I think the extra $32 for the private transfer will be well worth it (providing we get better service than you've had in the past that is). I guess in 10 days we'll either have another 'run of the mill' Annaheim shuttle service to add to the list or, if we're lucky and 4most coach lives up to their email service, then I'll be happy to recommend them.

I do think the Grayline shuttle is a real value-for-money service for small to mid-sized families, their services just don't line up with early morning arrivals for international flights.

We used Super Shuttle. The shuttle was clean and the drive prompt. No complaints. We had a private shuttle for up to 9 for $95.

Oh the irony... went looking for info on transfers LAX/DL for our upcoming trip, my old post comes up from our last trip, and I realised I never did the follow up post. Happy to report 4most coach was a great option. I called the cellphone number they provided once I picked up our bags from the carousel, walked out to the pick-up area, and they pulled up in less than 5 minutes. Service was top notch, bottled water to rehydrate after the long flight, and engaging conversation all the way to Anaheim. Service for the return journey was just as good. In fact we checked in at our hotel, freshened up, and still made it to DCA for opening.
So glad I found this post - I couldn't find the name of the company we had used - thanks DisBoards. Have emailed them to book their services for this trip too - I can go close all those other open tabs in my browser about LAX/DL transfers now :D
