LAX to MCO: What's the best fare you've seen? Which Airline?

I'm constantly looking at fares for my upcoming trip (January 2014g) and the cheapest I have found, non-stop and hasn't changed, is $368 with United or Virgin America. I'm hoping for some sort of dip as time gets closer to our trip but the latest I'll book is probably early November.

Have any of you found amazing deals from LAX?
I always see that Midwesterners and nor'easter get amazing deals through SW but right now that's over $400 and no nonstop flights

I think $368 is a pretty good price. I live in Monterey CA and either have to fly out or MRY or drive up to SFO or SJC. We have an upcoming trip to WDW in April 2014 and I'm constantly trolling for airfare. Best I have found is $460 (and the times are awful) and then it jumps right to $500 and climbs from there. I think you need to decide what you feel comfortable paying. I've missed out on some fares because I thought they would go lower and never did. We flu United a lot (lack of choices in MRY) but I'm now looking into USAIR and American and Alaska Air. I would think you can look at a lot more different airlines out of a major hub such as LAX. I think that's a great price too. We flew SW on Dec. 31st from LAX to MCO and it was over $400 each. I've found good prices on American ($320) out of Fresno but that's in off-peak times - Sept/Oct. Sometimes SW flights from Burbank to MCO are a little less than out of LAX.

DD just flew in from MCO to San Diego on Alaska Airlines today for $129 one-way but their flight schedules to MCO are changing later this year.

ETA: I receive Fare Alerts through TripAdvisor and they are showing $334 rt on AirTran for January.

$304.10 on Southwest is the best airfare I've seen between those two cities recently.

I fly out of Phoenix, and I always fly SW. I just checked your flights from LAX-ORL-LAX for the month of January and they are running a sale right now and I looked at Wed-Wed (didn't know your dates) and the fares are running $152-$222 each way. Check it out. They always run sales, I track there fares on Tues and Wed, I can always find low fares plus I have there Chase SWA credit card which when I first got it I got 50k points for travel. Plus you get 2 bags free. Hope you can score some low flights, good luck

I guess I should note that I am looking for non-stop flights.
I'm traveling with my younger sister and don't want to deal with changing planes.

I just booked the opposite direction for last week of December (nonstop)

MCO -> LAX @ $368

That is a very good price for that time of year.
I've booked that same route 4 times in the last 4 years over Christmas and this is as cheap as it normally gets.
January may be a little different, but you won't see it much cheaper if at all.
