I'm looking for any and all suggestions for getting from LAX to Grand Californian and visa versa. We land December 15 (Saturday)at 12:05pm and fly out December 19 (Wednesday) at 8:25am. Also interested in suggestions for time to leave to get to the airport on the 19th. Not a Californian so not sure about how to deal with SoCal traffic. We're 4 adults if that matters.

Are you planning on renting a car or looking for information regarding shuttles, buses, uber/lyft or all transportation options?

I am open to any and all suggestions. I'd rather not rent a car because I won't use it except traveling to/from airport. But if that's the best choice, I'll do it.

We rented a car but we have 6 and want to tour LA before we head to anaheim. But there is the super shuttle that was about $90 for the 6 of us, there is also a disneyland express shuttle

Your main choices are SuperShuttle which can be moderately priced but slow. They often wait for several passenger groups to arrive and board the shuttle. A taxi, around $90.00 one way last time I checked. A ride share service. No idea on prices sorry. And a car rental. You can rent a car for around $30.00 a day. At LAX you will have to take a free shuttle bus over to car rental hauling all your luggage with you. You could leave everyone else at arrivals go on the bus yourself and then come back with the car to pick them up, but considering airport traffic it's probably best to just get on the bus. This adds around 30 minutes to your time leaving LAX. Also the same for getting back to the airport to do the process in reverse. You can just rent the car for one day, use a company that has drop off locations near Disneyland, and just check into the hotel, drop the car off and either walk or take a taxi back to the Grand Californian. Then do the process in reverse the day before you leave and pay for one night parking. You won't be able to rent the car early enough to get to your 8:15 am flight. Or use a taxi one way back to the airport etc. Keeping the car for the several days could be worth it for the price of the rental, but you will have to pay for parking at the Grand Cal. If you do use a taxi back to the airport ask at the front desk or parking desk at the Grand Cal. for a taxi voucher. It will give you a flat rate to LAX (and other destinations) Taxi drivers don't always want to except them (they have to) so just be up front and clear as soon as you enter the taxi. They prefer to have the meter running and sometimes try to ignore the voucher if you had it over at the end of the drive. Other are great about it. Disney also offers a transfer from the airport to Disneyland and back. Never used it, not sure how well it is. I think it was around $30.00 a person. Been a while since I even looked into it.

Lots of good info there. Any suggestions on how early to leave for LAX on a Wednesday flight leaving at 8:25am assuming using a taxi?

I would suggest 5:30 or 6:00 at the latest. If you left at 5:30 you should get to the airport roughly 2 hours before your flight.

LAX can have long lines to get through. I would give myself a buffer. Assume at least 60 minutes driving, 30 minutes for security, and add on time if your checking bags. If your flight leaves at 8:25am I wouldn't be comfortable leaving any later then 5:00am. You may end up with extra time at the airport, but I'd always rather have that then miss my flight because something (traffic, lines etc) doesn't go perfect.

We used the SuperShuttle and it worked out great. We did the shared ride. We were the first stop which was nice and it was inexpensive. We arrived at 5 am so the Disneyland Shuttle want running, but that I've was more expensive and only departs once an hour.

We used Lansky on our trip this past Christmas and it was great. Our flight was delayed and I was concerned we would miss our driver but he waiting at the luggage carousel for us. Lansky includes a grocery stop on the way to DL so it was great to be able to stop and get some water, soda and snacks for the room.

We’ve used Lansky before and enjoyed it. Last time we just used Lyft and it was fairly cheap.

You can go onto the UBER and Lyft site and they will give you a quote.... This really is least expensive way

We used Lansky as well for our last two trips. It’s more expensive than the shuttles but having the driver waiting when you land to help you with your luggage, the grocery stop on the way to hotel, and not having to worry about adding enough extra time to pick up other passengers when you have an early morning flight home makes using them more than worth every penny! I had expected to have to leave fairly early for our flight home but Lansky suggested a little later of a pick up time. We still arrived at the airport with plenty of time :)

Uber or Lyft. Looks like it's around $50.00 for Uber/Lyft's 'basic' service. If you use UberXL or Lyft plus (larger vehicles) it'll be more. Those prices are also subject to 'surge' pricing.

This will give you fares for both, but I recommend checking the individual websites also for estimates.

Karmel Taxis are also worth considering too, though there have been good reports about Lansky my wife and I have not used them personally. We did have a good experience with Karmel back in October 2016 when we visited DL and will use them again for sure this coming October :)
