Hi Ya'll

I have a friend who is going to Disneyland, staying at the Del Sol right next to the crosswalk to Disneyland, and he is going to land in LAX. He is not renting a car. I believe Super Shuttle can take you from LAX to your hotel or am I wrong about this? What other options would you suggest for him to get to his hotel? Oh and how long approx is it from LAX to Disneyland?

Thanks a bunch!

We did Super Shuttle last year from LAX to the HoJo, it was nice and beat fighting traffic! It was less than an hour total, the shuttle will stop at the Resort hotels first then the other hotels.

Excellent. Thanks. Ya I didn't think it was more then an hours drive. This is perfect. I will let him know about the Super Shuttle option

Supershuttle

Disneyland

Between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Disneyland, the trip takes about 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic.

From LAX, shared shuttle van service is $16 per person one way/$32 per person roundtrip, plus tip.

Thanks so much. I told my friend and he booked the Supershuttle. It was $17 per person one way. That's not too bad. Way cheaper then a cab ride. So worth the money in my opinion.

Supershuttle is the same company providing airport transfer service at various airports in the US, those blue vans.

The bus you mean is the Disneyland Express. That's not the same as the Magical Express at WDW as far as I know.

The thread "Airport Proximity to DLR and Ground Transportation Information" will give you all the information you need and then some:

Have fun planning your trip!

Thanks... I guess that Disneyland Express is a bit like the bus at DLP then..
Thanks for clearing that up for me :goodvibes

WRT the Disneyland Express ...

We took the bus the first time we went in 2008. Our plane landed at 12:30 so we were traveling at about 1:30 in the afternoon. The busride was nearly 90 minutes!

This time we hopped on a passenger van also called the Disneyland Express. (Same company?? I assume. It was the same price.) And he got us to our hotel (DLH) in 35 minutes! We were thrilled!

That's the difference between a big, heavy bus and a van in the carpool lane, I guess!

Just FYI...I was able to find a great deal on a car rental at LAX - my trip's coming up in a couple weeks. about $170 total for 8 nights. By the time we get r/t for all 4 of us for a shuttle - we're paying about $50 more and getting the car for the whole time.

I've done both Supershuttle and the Disneyland Express. The Disneyland Express is more comfortable but does take longer, they pick you up earlier at the hotel too for the return. The last time I used it I got on at Paradise Pier but we were dropped off at the DL Hotel and had to transfer to another bus.

The bus is Disneyland Resort Express, run by Grayline.

Nope. Not as far as I know. Different, sneaky, company. Very very lucky they didn't take you for quite a bit more than you expected, as they (or another sneaky company) have done to others in the past.

Mousesavers info: "There is a small company calling itself Disneyland Express that operates vans - watch out, it's not the same company."

Buses can go in the carpool lane; each time I've taken Disneyland Resort Express they've gone in the carpool lane.

With the time to get to the disney area, it can vary on time of day and what traffic around is doing. Also changes depending on where you catch it...if you're at Terminal 1, you're going to get your choice of seats, but you are also going to have to stop at each and every terminal where they pick up (there are at least 7 terminal stops from what my memory tells me). If you get on at Terminal 7, it's going to be more crowded, but you're getting right on the highway.

I've had good experiences on the bus. Others have had lousy experiences. I've had good AND bad experiences on Super Shuttle, and I've used it to and/or from LAX, SNA, and ONT now. I've also taken a taxi from the train station in Anaheim...good experience there, but I'm sure others have had a negative experience. Each experience is going to have SO many factors leading into it...it's impossible to know what one's next experience will be...

prime time shuttle is traditionally cheaper than super shuttle, but you'll want to make sure they make that trip, which i'm sure they do. it's only a couple of dollars cheaper, but a couple of dollars is a couple of dollars, esp when there are several people taking the ride!

for anyone, make sure the driver avoids the 5 south! you'll be in the van for hours!!

110 N to 91E to 5 S. waaay quicker
