What is the best way to get from LAX to the Candy Cane Inn (and back)?

I will not be renting a car, so should I take the Super Shuttle or the Disneyland Express?

Thanks

I would say the Disneyland Express. It costs about 28 dollars and they drop you either right in front, or a second away.

I used it myself as I'd heard some bad things about supershuttle and I had a very good experience with it.

Roughly how much time should I expect it to take to get from the time the plane lands until I am at the Inn? My plane is scheduled to land at 10:45am on a Tuesday in April.

Thanks again....kind of new to DLR.

I actually prefer Super Shuttle! They are the company that I personally use whenever I am going to/from the airport.

I like them better than Disneyland Express because Super Shuttle does not make all kinds of pre-arranged stops [apart from where the other people who are in the shuttle need to go]. Disneyland Express has, just like a regular bus, a certain route that it has to follow. And when I get off an airplane, I just want to get to where I'm going with the least amount of stops possible!

Super Shuttle generally runs a little higher in price than Disneyland Express- but to me, it's worth it, because of the fewer stops.

You can visit their website online at www.SuperShuttle.com for pricing and reservations.

I hope this helps, and that you have a great trip! :goodvibes

Super Shuttle is $16 each way, and there are discounts available of $2 per person each way. If you fly into Orange County, it's $10 each way or $8 with the discount. Much cheaper than Disneyland Express.

I'd say 45 minutes. DE took an hour and a half during rush hour on a weekday for me.

I'd say from the plane landing (30 minutes or more to get baggage) plan to get to the hotel at Noon or later.

In early June I was the only one on DE so it went fast.

How about directions from LAX to Candy Cane Inn by rental car? I was considering a shuttle and then renting a car for just a day or two from the Enterprise car rental located at the Hilton but when I add the cost of the shuttle to the cost of the car rental, that would cost about the same as Super Shuttle and I would only have the freedom of a car for part of my trip (I can get a car from Thrifty for the week for $144 inc tax). What is the driving like? We will be arriving on a Sunday about 1:00pm and departing Friday evening on a 10:00pm flight. TIA!

You might check out Alamo too. We got a one week rental from LAX for $100.27 including tax. Mousesavers.com has a section on car rental codes and discounts. We're using I.D. 430710 (Walmart customer) and coupon AD3829MRB ($25 off a weekly rental).

Also, try different pick up and drop off times. For some reason, the cost went to $200 if we picked up at 10:30 versus $100 for 10:00 or 11:00. Not sure why.

The Candy Cane Inn is walking distance from DL, but not fun walking distance. I'd give it a good 15 minute walk or more . If you're wanting to drive to DL from the hotel, you need to add in the cost of parking the car in the lot. If you aren't you need to add in the extra walking time back to the hotel each time you decide to take a drive for food, etc.

I chose a closer hotel just so there would not be as much walking. If you're intending to use a car, it might just be better to stay in a hotel that is farther away and cheaper.
