I got into a car accident Thursday in Paterson, NJ.

Today in the mail I get an "advertisement" from a law firm in Paterson for their services incase I need to sue someone :lmao: Included with his letter was a copy of my police report and a video tape about the firm. Actually I got 2 letters, one addressed to my mother and the second addressed to the other adult in my car ( a friend)

Now this accident was Thursday afternoon and here it is Saturday. Do they run down ever few hours and get copies of police reports? I thought this was so odd. It does save me form calling to get the report but talk about accident chaser .

As so the accident, I was not familiar with the area and came to the stop. I was making a right hand turn. Had my blinker on and I took a few extra seconds since I wanted to make sure I was gong the right way. Well I went to make a right and a car squeezed in next to me on my right and I hit her. I never even saw her. She thought I was going to make a left.

After an hour waiting for the cops with 2 infants in the car in the heat :furious: he yelled at me saying I was making a wide right turn..he was a total jerk and was even questioned my mother who was with us If I had a license (while I moved the car) :confused3 . Sure I could of been a little closer to the right but there were cars parked all along the side. I was closer to the right than the yellow line in the middle.

After he cop ran all of my information he was a lot nicer to me.. than he told me if you leave an inch next to you they will squeeze in :confused3 Thankfully it was minor scratches on both. If we even get them painted I will pay out of pocket.

PS. Does anyone know what Noon-Reportable means on a police report. On the top it had 3 boxes you could check: reportable, Non-reportable and changed report. He checked non-reportable.

This is how I knew my ex husband got into trouble a few times, he would get 10-15 lawyer advertisements within a few days after an incident.

No idea what non reportable means, especially with a report being written. :confused3

If you were upset by the officer's demeanor, I'd suggest contacting his superior officer and just letting them know that he was rude and yelled at you. Maybe they have ongoing issues with this officer, or no one has ever reported this kind of behavior (maybe he was having a terrible day, but that's no excuse to treat someone so poorly).

Isn't it nice that the lawyers can pick up a copy of your collision report?! Love that public info stuff. :furious:
