Day 14 Goodbye to the Disney Wonder and back to WDW.
23RD September
We were up bright and early this morning as we had to be at breakfast for 7am! Its was my mums birthday so we popped round to give her a card and wish her happy birthday before heading down to breakfast. It was also my Nan and Grandads 46th Wedding anniversary.
Our breakfast was in Tritons as thats where we had eaten last night. I think we all had the express breakfast with some coffee. We gave out our tips and said goodbye before heading up stairs for a walk around before getting off. We took a look at the Royal Caribbean International ship that was docked next to us. We got off at about 8am and went to find our cases, that took us about 10 minutes and by the time we walked outside our limo was there ready to pick us up and take us back to the Port Orleans resort. We were staying at the French Quarter this time, id only stayed at the Riverside part before. We were all tired so it was a quiet limo ride this time!
We got to the Port Orleans at about 9:30am and there was no queue for check in! We checked in and 2 of the 3 rooms were ready so we went over and dropped our cases off, we were in Building one which must be one of the furthest away from the main area but as its a small resort it really doesnt matter. The rooms were quite nice and we had a corner room so we had 2 big windows. We dropped the cases off and headed over to Epcot for a few hours. We didnt have long to wait for the bus, and we were soon in the park. We did all the rides in Future World first, Mission Space, Test Track and Soarin before starting to walk around the world showcase. We wandered towards mexico, and had a great look around the market in there and did the boat ride. We strolled around the world showcase looking through all the shops until we got to Germany. We sat down for a while and my grandparents decided to head off back to the hotel. As theirs was the room that was not ready my parents gave them the key for their room so they could get their case. We decided to get the boat back across to Future World and have some lunch there
After lunch we decided to head back ourselves, we got back to the room and unpacked the suitcase we hadnt bothered packing it very well after the cruise as I knew id have to unpack again! After we had unpacked we headed round to the pool for an hour or so. The pool was actually quite chilly so we didnt stay in there for too long! We then went back to the room to get ready for the evening! As it was my mums birthday and my grandparents wedding anniversary me and DH were taking them to the Coral Reef for dinner! Id booked one of the divers to swim down with the sign and personalized menus! We got there early and were given a great table, it was one of the booths which had a great view of the tank in front!
The menus were really good too! We had given the restaurant 3 pictures, one of each couple taken at the wedding last year and they had put those on one page with Happy Birthday Alison on one Menu and Happy 46th Wedding anniversary Joan and Alec on the other.
Our waitress came over and took our drinks order and was chatting to us about what was inside the aquarium. She stood gave us our drinks and said she would be back in a moment to take our order, just as she walked off I could see the diver swim down and wave at us My parents had noticed him but my grandparents hadnt they were too busy saying how wonderful the menus were. We quickly got their attention and the diver waved again and then pulled out the banner which said Happy Birthday Alison on the top and Happy 46th Wedding anniversary Joan and Alec underneath! He also threw some sort of confetti in the air!
My Grandparents were thrilled with it and were convinced id spent a fortune when in actual fact it didnt cost anything! The waitress came back over and we ordered our dinner, I was disappointed that the Tuna had been taken off the menu as I enjoyed that last time! So I had the Mahi Mahi this time, which was also delicious! After dinner Blanca (The waitress) brought out 2 free deserts One for my mum which said Happy Birthday that was their chocolate wave dessert and one for My grandparents which was solid chocolate shaped like a champagne glass, which then had chocolate mousse inside it and it happy had wedding anniversary on the front. After dinner Blanca my mum her personal email address and said to email her when we were next coming back and said she would get us in at the Coral Reef which came in handy for my next trip!
After the coral reef we headed back to the world showcase and watched Illuminations, before heading back to the bus stop. We were lucky and got straight on the first bus and were soon on our way back. Before going back to the room we stopped off in the shop and got some crisps and drinks for the room. We arranged to meet the others in the lobby in the morning to go to Universal before heading back to the room.
Again - i have photos for this day and will post as soon as i can.
