Does anyone know if laundry soap tablets are still sold anywhere. We bought some a couple of years ago (after a tip from a fellow Dis member) to take to WDW, and haven't been able to find them since. Thanks.

do you have a smaller supermarket in your area? Most of the larger ones don't carry them anymore, but many times you can still find them in smaller stores that don't have a large volume and still have some left.

It never ceases to amaze me the info that I find on this board! We had used a brand of laundry tablets (Wisk maybe?) a few years ago. My mom has since moved into an apartment without her own laundry, and she was looking for tablets that would be easier than carrying a bottle/box of detergent!!! We could find them no where...

These are not tablets, but we've been real happy with them. It's like a fabric softner sheet with detergent added to it (All-in-one). It's lighter weight than the tablets. Great for travel. I still pack my Shout stick & Shout wipes (love them) for the tougher stains.

We also pack a pop up hamper & a couple of mesh laundry bags.

I found the Xclaim All In One Laundry Sheet at Camping World on 192 in Kissimmee. Their link is http://www.campingworld.com/search/index.cfm?action=search&tcode=11&keywords=xclaim&x=20&y=2

I know your looking for tablets, but I thought I would share that I found a 4 load bottle of Tide in the travel items section of Target. I prefer liquid (and Tide) so I was happy to see this!

Hi Disney Bill - Disneymama1 here. Even though my trip isn't till October (at BWV by the way) I have been thinking about laundry detergent myself. I won't have time for a grocery stop, so was hoping to buy detergent at the BW general store. I was very prepared to pay a lot!

Now I will buy these tablets and pack them. Very convenient. Thanks Bill

Hey Disneymam1, there will be a couple of "1 use" boxes of Tide in the room this October. It is also sold in the store on the BW for about a buck. Never hurts to ask a close-working mousekeeper if they have any extra either. Enjoy!

If you're not too picky about your detergent, try getting some free samples. I found several free detergent offers over the past year or so and now have enough 1-use packets to handle most of my laundry at WDW.

I found a couple of the offers on walmart.com and the rest from the manufacturers sites (Tide, Wish, All, etc)

I've used those during our last two trips.

The little corner stores here have them for $1.50. So far I've seen Tide, Wisk and Gain. I've also found one store that has the 4 load bottles of Downy for $2.00. :woohoo:

I worked at a summer camp in 2005 and made my own laundry tabs to pack. I bought some powdered laundry detergent (the cheap stuff), mixed with water to make a paste and made it into tablet sized balls. I let them dry on waxed paper (takes 1-2 days) and put them in a gallon size Ziploc bag. I put the Ziploc bag inside a plastic Folgers coffee can to pack in in my suitcase. One tip: Crumble them with your hands over the washer, otherwise they may not dissolve all the way because they are pretty hard. It's a great way to save money though (and I had some pretty funky clothes to wash working at a camp in the sun all day!)

dapookie09 - thanks for the awesome tip. i will certainly try this. i will make a bunch, keep in the camper and also pack in my suitcases for vacations. great idea and crafty too!

thanks again

check your small local laundrymats for small boxes I know it's not the tabs but might be cheaper than buying it there, I last found a box of tide tabs at Big Lots about a year ago, I keep the box in a dry place and use for trips only. :woohoo:

Whenever we travel, I always measure one loads worth of powdered laundry detergent into snack size ziplock baggies. Then I put all of those with some dryer sheets into a larger ziplock along with quarters and a stain stick. :thumbsup2
