Has anyone used the laundry service at the Polynesian? What did you think? How much does it cost?

We are staying at the Polynesian resort. Since we are there 11 days we are probably going to have to have some laundry done. I dont mind doing some laundry myself if we are going to just be hanging around the hotel,:laundy: but I dont want to schedule my time around doing laundry.:sad2:

On shorter trips I would just bring enough clothing to cover the days, but 11 days of clothing is quite a lot, plus figuring that we will want to freshin up some afternoons, we will be using even more. Any tips??? Is it worth it to buy more clothing?

Ooops... I posted this in the wrong thread but I do not know how to move it.

Valet Laundry service at the Wilderness Lodge (which can't be too different from the Poly I'd imagine) has prices ranging from12.00 for 3-pc suits and overcoats down to 2.00 for socks. Knit shirts cost 5.00 and "tennis shorts" cost 5.00. Pants are 6.50. Button down shirts are 5.50. Underwear is 2.00 per piece, and t-shirts are 4.50.

Looks like you'll be paying an average of $14 for an outfit to be washed (shorts, t-shirt, socks, underwear).

On the other hand, the self-serve laundry facilities are usually $2 for washer, $2 for dryer, and $1 for soap. (Sometimes it's nice to schedule a "laundry afternoon"--most of which you can spend by the pool!)

Hopefully that helps!

it is pricey to have valet laundry done... there are washers and driers. you could wear something more than once, since you will be sweating all day in it anyway

There is a self serve laundry area in the same building the Neverland Club is in. We were in Tokelau so it was a quick walk over there. If it was early morning or later in the evening, you needed your room key to get in...made me feel a bit better being there early in the morning. I can't remember exactly what the cost was...maybe $2 (in change) per wash and about the same for 30 mins of drying time.
I usually put in a load early in the morning, then go back to the room for a bit. Then, on the way to breakfast I put the stuff in the dryer. It's usually dry when we are done eating.
Or, you can do it during the day if you are at the pool area. Works great if you use the quiet pool...short walk to the laundry area then.
I always plan on doing laundry if I have a stay of longer than 5 days.
