Laundry Question

So, I have two contracts -- AKL and Poly. In general, Poly will be for short trips (studio) and AKL for longer. That works because I will have a washer and dryer when I need it. However, I'm curious about the laundry rooms at DVC. Are they standard coin operated laundry rooms just like there is at, say, Fort Wilderness?

Some of the machines in the laundry rooms at DVC resort may have the coin mechanism, but they operate without coins. I believe you need to scan your MagicBand or RFID card to gain access.

Each DVC resort has a room that allows access via MagicBand and has machines that do not require coins. That is so DVC members staying in Studios have access to free machines.
The exception is Old Key West, where the room is open.
In the past, the front desk would give you tokens that would operate the machines. Or buy detergent ;-) This has been stopped and replaced by the control of access to the laundry rooms.
