We have been staying at GF for two weeks, and since we came by airplane, we had a lot of loundry to do, and used the hotel facilities extensively!

I know the machines have changed quite recently but I haven't found a thread with pictures relative to how these machines work, so here it is!

These new machines accept debit and credit cards, but NO LONGER accepts cash (no coins nor bills, save weight by not bringing your quarters for your next trip! :))
It has been said on the DIS that the front desk could facilitate cash payment for laundry, if anyone has done this, please reply to this thread and I'll edit this post!

Our hotel featured several laundry locations. We picked the one closed to our building, Conch Key. Laundry is on ground floor inside a small room. A sign on the wall explains how the things work, and there is the URL that you can use to track your laundry online (and even a QR code if your smartphone supports that):

If you wish, you can buy detergent or softener for 1 dollar each. Just swipe your card in the reader, and type the number of the box you would like to buy:

Then, the machine (with a box of detergent bought on the previous screen)! Open it to put your laundry, close the door, swipe the card, wait for Authorization (took quite a moment, but it may be because we have foreign CC):

As you can see, there are several programs to choose from, each for 3 dollars. We used the green "Bright Colors" program and found it was perfect, in just about 30 minutes:

Last, the dryers (we didn't use them and decided to hang our stuff in the bathroom with the air extraction on):

Feel free to ask if you have questions!

(And moderators, feel free to merge this topic if there is another one that would fit!)

Thank you for this informative post. I usually like to do laundry the night before I come back home. Somber tradition. Last time I was there, they still had the coin operated machines.

I'd like to add that only credit cards are accepted. Imagine me dismay when I brought my bag full of quarters with me and had to drag my happy butt back to the room to get my card.

I know it says that on the sign but in case someone missed it. Lol

Thanks for that tip, I edited my post!

I remember reading somewhere the reception may help if you have no CC or if it is not accepted by the machines. Has anyone tried that? I guess they may be able to issue voucher cards but I'd like to be sure of that info!

I wish these machines would accept MagicBand, would be SO convenient. Even the Convention Center accepts MB for the package delivery fees…

I believe it is credit or debit cards, not just credit cards

Nice. It's always nice when I have random questions before a trip and someone has taken the time to answer the question it. I'm going to try and create a guide like this for something when I go next. Now just to figure out what that is.

Sorry. That's what I meant. They only take cards. No cash is accepted.

I clarified my first post indicating no form or cash is allowed at the machine and that it has been said over here that front desk can facilitate cash payments if needed.
