Laundry, DVD, fridge at RPR?

As suggested by the subject, I am wondering if the rooms at the RPR (normal, not club) have DVD players or if they can be rented. Also are there refrigerators (or mini-bars that can be requested empty) for use or rent? And last, since we don't want to bring 7 days worth of clothing, are there laundry facilities at RPR or within a reasonable distance by shuttle or something? Sorry if all these questions have been asked countless times!

not sure how much help i will be even though i just came back. i don't remember seeing laundry facilities but i think that there are some for guests. like most hotels, you can send clothes to be cleaned but i gather that may prove to be costly. there are no dvd, cd player or vcr in the rooms. though walkman and discman were on our list of star services. as for the mini bar, i never even got the key to open it. i have heard others on this board say that there is enough room for a couple of baby bottle size stuff to be squeezed in there but i doubt very much that you could have it emptied out to be used as a fridge.

No DVD players, but they have a pay per view channel. The movies are expensive at $13 a pop, but they have some great choices. Needless to say, I could have owned some of the movies after all the charges for renting.

Snoozn, there are laundry facilities in each of the 3 RPR towers. In tower 3, it was on the 2nd floor (just as you get off the elevator, turn right) You needed your room key to open the laundry door. I believe it was $1.00 per load but a woman who was just finishing hers said the dryer ran so long she actually was able to dry 2 loads in a row. In one of the other towers, I saw a laundry room with an outside entrance. Not sure where the 3rd one is. Don't forget your fabric softner! The soap mach. didn't have any. As for the dvd player, Loew's has "star services" for Loew's members (at least I think it's for Loew's? and not just club?) . There's a whole long list of stuff that you can use for free.....weights, special pillows, cd and player, etc. I don't remember if dvd player was on the list.

Thanks for the answers! It sounds like I'm going to be out of luck except for the laundry, but that's the most important thing anyway. We can just bring our own DVD player and get a disposable cooler.

My DH just called RPR today to see if they rent fridges or microwaves. He was told microwaves are $10 per night, and fridges are $15 per night. Also, I don't know about RPR, but we did laundry last year at HRH, and I'm pretty sure that it was more than $1 a load. You may want to take a few extra quarters just in case. ;) Hope this helps!

Don't botherw/ laundry, this is vacation! We just got back from RPR. and w/2 7yo we had an entire suitcase of clean clothes! By the end of the trip, we were wearing our bathing suits and cover- ups to the parks, It was that hot!!! So much for the nice dinner clothes, they were worn all of approx. 2 hr total per night. Very laid back & comfy atmosphere (and I am a clothes freak!) My advise (after home 1 week), chill out , pack fo the vacation, then take out 1/2!!!! and dont stress about laundry, because kids don't care! PS I loved universal- 1st trip I am hooked

lol.......if I wasn't traveling with 2 teenage boys who will be out in the July heat all day for 10 days plus getting caught in the rains more than once, I probably could get away without having to do laundry.

I was reading the Universal guide book last night. It says that a load of laundry is $2 and the same to dry at RPR. -HM

Thanks for the further info! The fridge price is a little too high, so I think I'll stick with a cooler. I'd love to not do laundry while on vacation, but I have pretty messy kids, so not sure I can pack 7 days worth of clothes for unpredictable Nov. weather for everyone and still fit in the rental car! Maybe I'll try to pack enough so that I only have to do one load of laundry. Thanks!
