Instead of resurrecting the old laundry thread I've started a new one to share with you something I found. They are called dropps and they are a self-contained dissolvable premeasured packet of detergent. Organic for those who are interested. Best thing is you can get a free sample to see if you like them before ordering @ dropps.com They will give you an email link to email away for the sample. I sent in my request today and am interested to see if I like them. They are reasonable, like $0.54 each and sooo easy to pack :cheer2: Something nifty to throw in our DVC bag :teeth:

Thanks for the heads up! I'll definitely have to try them first, because we have some allergy issues with some detergents.

There is no droops.com, I have looked all over and cannot find the site. can you post it . we are going in March and want to try this. TIA Marianne :confused3

I found a small box of tide on clearance for $2.08...I think it does 8 loads...I am going to bring this...but also the new Mighty ALL is condensed detergent, so you could carry a few loads in a small container.

I just had to join in. I miss the old 'hot laundry thread'..... :teeth: I still look lovingly at the Persil tabs at my German wholesaler, but at $1.50+++ a tab they are not a good value. I still go the laundry powder in a plastic baggie route.

I remember the "Great Laundry Tab" thread. Now that was a discussion. A new source of tabs would be good, better than bringing ziploc bags of powder.

I used your link and all was fine. I've asked for free "fragrance free" if possible!

Thanks for this threaad!

OOOPS! I forgot to ask for fragrance free, and that is what I need! I couldn't see a way to order the fragrance free stuff on-line, so I suppose in that case, it has to be ordered by phone.

How did you order the free sample?? When I go to the website it says " Thank you for your interest in dropps.
Please check back soon for another dropps free sample offer". Guess the free samples are all gone. :confused3

OK, fess up - who ordered all the free samples? :teeth:

One 24-count DROPPs Pack
24 Washloads
$12.99

Cheaper than my Persil tabs, but not as cheap as the Amway ones on the old thread (sorry, don't know the new name for 'Amway')

Target has the Tide liquid (it does 4 loads) for .99 in the travel section. I usually pick that up and so far it hasn't leaked.

I have a small bottle of Purex that I got at the dollar store(4 loads i think). I plan on using it then saving the bottle to refill for other trips instead of having to search for more.

I have asked a friend from the UK who's coming to visit over Memorial Day Weekend to bring me a box of Persil tablets (48 tablets). It's really good detergent (I wish they sold it here in the US), and works out to about $0.12 a tablet.

Maybe we can start to get some of UK DVC DIS friends to help us out:sunny:
