I am staying in a studio at SSR. I know there aren't washing/drying units in the the room, but are there some on site?
Anyone know how much they charge?
Debating on how many days to pack for - staying 7 days.

Washers and dryers have been free. You just have to buy the detergent or bring your own.

Washer and dryers are free. They are located by the Springs, main pool, next to the bike rentals. Detergent and softener are $1.00 each. I really enjoyed having clean clothes when I unpacked my suitcase!

We just got back last Sunday from a studio at SSR.
We were given 1 little box of Tide (enough for 1 load) for free on our T&T day.

Thanks all for your answers
Daisy Duck -
Did you get the tide because you were an owner there?
I am not a DVC owner, I exchanged through II.
Looking at your list, this was the first time you stayed at SSR.
Tell me what you think of it.
What section did you stay in?
Any tips/concerns or suggestions?

Hi!
Yes, we're new owners there.
I don't know if that's why we received the Tide.
We really enjoyed SSR.
We were in The Springs section...room 4236...very close to the main pool.

One tip....the food court (Artist's Palette) is on the small side for a resort this size. I suggest eating breakfast early & any lunches you have there, I would eat early or on the late side.

They sell refillable mugs there for $11.99.
This worked great for us & we purchased 3.
There is a refillable mug station right by the main pool.

**They have games daily (in the afternoon) by the main pool.
I did not realize this until our 2nd day...they gave us a schedule for the week in our check-in packet & I had not noticed it. Each day...starting around 2:30 (once or twice not until 4om) they have several games that go on for about an hour. The kids & I had a lot of fun!
They have:
Bingo
Disney Trivia
Water balloon toss
Critter Round Up
Hula-hoop contests
several others too

Some of the games have great prizes...like the DVD trivia games for your tv!!
Some games...not such great prizes...DS9 won the "critter round-up game" & all he got was a little squirty fish..oh well, he thought he'd get one of the BIG prizes. But we still had fun.

Just look for the schedule in your check-in packet.

I just wanted to add that we ARE DVC owners but did not receive our box of Tide in the studio we stayed in earlier this month. There is a nice laundry facility by the leisure pool next to Congress Park - there was never anyone in there. I had not planned to do laundry because our stay was only 5 days.

I know there are at least three laundries on site. One at CP close to the pool, one at the pool in the Paddock area, and one on the main street close to the main pool. I would guess that there is also one in the new Grandstand area close to that pool, but someone else would have to confirm that. There are coin slots on the machines, but you don't have to put money in them. They also have small boxes of detergent at the store connected to AP. We used the laundry at the Paddock pool in January. Very nice and clean and convenient.
