hi, my tail is between my legs. I lost 47 lbs. on WISH about 2.5 years ago and I've regained about 35 of them. I'm depressed and just hate myself right now. I'm not like some of you...always taking care of others...I do what I'm supposed to to take care of my family, but it's really all about me. I want to please the lazy me. I love the lazy me and I don't love the thin/fit me that I had (almost) achieved! I put things in my mouth that feel/taste good at the moment and then I hate myself afterward. I'm so tired of fighting this battle with food and (especially) exercise. Why do we have to do this? Why can't we just be healthy??? I hate veggies, water seems blech!, it's cold out and I'd rather lay on the couch under a blanket or read a book than exercise! I think some structure and motivation would help...

Sorry for my ramblings. I want to change (or re-change), but it's so hard. I can't write out my dreams right now b/c I'm at work and have grading/exams/etc. to work on.

Thanks for listening...

Carmen

Hi everyone!

My name is Bonnie and I would like to join in on the relaunching yourself thread! I need to lose weight, but I like the idea of remaking your whole self.

Things I'm going to work on:

1. Being a better wife and mommy: I'm going to spend more time playing with and talking to my kids. Being a mommy isn't just making sure they are bathed and fed and getting to school on time and getting their homework done. I'm going to try to enjoy my kids more. These years will be over soon and I don't want to look back and wonder where they went and why I didn't do more with my kids. I'm also going to try to do little things for my hubby, like give him little back rubs, put an I love you card in his breifcase, etc.

2. Not being so lazy. This will help when it comes to cleaning house, exercising, cooking, etc. I'm going to get up and do things that I don't feel like doing!

3. Increasing my talents. I got a really nice keyboard for Christmas. I used to play the piano when I was really young and then I stopped taking lessons because I would never practice. So now that I have something to play, I'm going to practice every day and really develope those piano playing skills. I also want to learn to sew. I got a new sewing machine (even though I have NO idea how to use it) and I'm going to sign up for some sewing classes.

4. Being smarter with money. I'm going to try to start saving more, not eating out as much, cutting back on things we don't really need. I'm also going to try to teach my children the value of money and make them earn it.

5. Go to Europe. This has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. However, when we take trips, I always end up wanting to make it a family vacation (Disneyland, WDW, DCL Cruise) and I have still never gone to Europe. I'm going to set up a seperate vacation fund just for my trip for Europe. It will probably take me years to save enough, but I will really appreciate it when I finally do go! And if hubby doesn't want to join me, I'll go alone!

6. Be healthy. I'm going to make a list of healthy foods that I do like and build my grocery list around them. I started walking on my treadmill, but I will also start going back to the gym a few days a week. And drinking more water!

7. Be more spiritual. I am going to try to start going to church every week again and read the scriptures more often.

8. Read uplifting material.

9. Be a better teacher. I teach Kindergarten and sometimes I find myself not doing as many fun/creative things as I used to. It's easier to do worksheets. And I never wanted to be a teacher who used a lot of worksheets! So I'm going to try to do more fun things in my classroom.

Thanks for listening, and thanks for starting this thread. Good luck to everyone in relaunching yourselves!
