I had lunch today with a friend who's husband happens to be the Major in charge of Bobby's unit. He called her over the weekend and told her that they have been overwhelmed with packages and that it would probably be smart to stop sending boxes and go with just letters. She told him that she knew there were probably a lot of boxes in transit (including one I just sent out yesterday to Bobby), but that she would spread the word to start cutting back.

Hopefully that message from him also means that they don't want to have to pack up excess stuff to bring home!!! ;)

Sounds like good news.

TwinMom - your children are beautiful :)

Same thing with my DH's shop. They had so much stuff that they couldn't possibly use it all. There were boxes and boxes of soap, shampoo, deoderant, and all sorts of snacks and food, etc.

They ended up shipping some into Iraq because there was more than they could ever use.

The letter's seem to get there much faster too!

When they leave -- I think the extra's will be in good hands. Hopefully they will leave it with some of the very deprived Iraqi families.:D

You have great looking kids. Well, I don't guess I will mail this package I have ready to go out.

If I were you, I'd hang on to the package for a couple of weeks. If I hear that Bobby's unit is packing up to come home, I'll let you know. Otherwise, I'd go ahead and send it out.
