For those who remember my "Kittens" saga, I thought I would give an update.

Well, the kittens are around 15 weeks and we now are used to the fact that we have 7 cats, LOL. We initially were only going to keep Shenzi (mamma cat) and Rabbit, but then the adoptions of Eeyore, Owl and Piglet sort of fell through. After much consideration and bonding, I realized I couldn't part with them anyways and my DH has just dealt with the idea that they are staying. Also, they are all so comfortable here and I think it would be traumatic, at this point, to separate them from each other.

(I even had a very nice DISer pm me and offer to adopt Owl, but I became too attached to her to give her up and I couldn't do it, I just decided to keep them together- here)

They still nurse off Shenzi every now and again...but she is definitely allowing it less and less. They have figured out that if she is really sleepy, she is more likely to allow it...so they wait. Not unlike children. This will probably come to a screeching halt as she is scheduled to be spayed right after Thanksgiving...so I imagine she will not allow it when she is healing. She still is protective of them, but only when they get in a bind. She is a very loving mom and they follow her around like little ducklings. OMG and they are so adorable.

Tucker, our 1 year old male orange tabby LOVES them so much. He grooms them, snuggles with them, plays with them. I think he thinks he is one of them! Zoe, our black, female British Shorthair, tolerates them...she is curious. But they are terrified of her.

Piglet is the only long (medium) haired of the 4 kittens and she changed the most. Her hair got much lighter and her body almost looks like a chinchilla, but her tails has stripes on the end, her fur is very plush and soft. She is the shy one...affection is strictly on her terms.

Rabbit is still the bold crazy one, Eeyore and Owl are very affectionate, but a wee bit shy still too. My DH and kids just love them to death. As do I, of course. Eeyore looks mostly black in the pictures, but in reality he is black/grey striped.

First...Piglet and Rabbit:

Oh, and the other 4 are doing great in their forever homes. Pooh is making my great aunts life worth living, she spoils him to death. Tigger is now Peanut Butta and is also doing very well. Kanga and Roo are kicking up a storm in their new home also...with a very good bachelor friend of ours. He now calls himself a cat person, LOL.

They are beautiful and I bet they keep you and your family hopping! I'm sure it's fun watching all of their antics. Rabbit is almost identical to my "Whiskers" who I adopted from the Humane society. Piglet's fur is very unique. :goodvibes So glad your aunt is enjoying her furbaby and the other ones sounded like they've been blessed by great owners also. :teeth:

Thanks for sharing the update with us.

They are all beautiful but Piglet has a very interesting look that is much different. I am also drawn to cats the colors of Owl.

Enjoy your kitty family.

They are so cute :goodvibes I can understand why you kept the remaining 4 and Shenzi. Honestly, we regret giving up one of our rescue kittens this past spring :( It's great that you guys decided to provide a loving home for so many of the kittens and for Shenzi :flower:

I love the first picture. It looks like they're posing and waiting to receive some recognition and a medal for something!!

Rabbit looks a bit like my Henry. All your kitties are very sweet looking!! :)

How sweet! I don't know the backstory, but am so, so glad you are keeping them all. The markings on Piglet are magnificent!

We're getting 2 kittens next month (Bro/sis) and your Owl reminds me of one of them... named Seven. Cause the mark on her face is shaped like a 7. How original. :earboy2:

Boy, will YOU have fun putting up your Christmas tree this year with all those helpers! :rotfl:

They're adorable and Piglet's coloring is stunning!

They are all adorable but Piglet is quite the looker!!! :goodvibes

I dont have a ouc of my cat, but back in August DH rescued a cat from a parking lot that someone threw under a car, the security gaurd from the store saw it and picked up the cat and put her in a shopping cart and went into the store and bought her food, Dh and I saw her and took her home, she was pure white but covered in motor oil so it took a while to get her back to pure white again but we did and we named her SnowWhite, we thought she was pregnant, but now we think when we found her she had already just had a litter, so makes us wonder what they do with the kittens?

Thanks for the update! They are so cute. :grouphug: I now have another adopted stray. The picture on my page is the first from two years ago; but now I have a male tabby as well. He is full of love and it's hard to believe he's the same pitiful cat who dragged himself to our doorway a month ago. I
get angry when people abuse and then abandon their pets. We tried for a month;but no one wanted him so now he is ours.

They are all so adorable! I don't think I've ever seen a coat quite like piglet's though. Very cool looking. :cool1:

Myst

Wow, they've gotten a lot bigger from the last pictures I saw! Piglet looks totally different - beautiful coat!

They are so cute! Glad that all the kittens found a happy home, whether or not it was the one they were born in. (how could you resist?) :goodvibes

I wanted to chime in and say that I have seen a coat like Piglets before...on our cat that is part Ragdoll :) Is Piglet VERY soft, and also does she have a fearless demeanor? I think that those are 2 breed traits of ragdolls/mixes. My DH's good friend always says that our part-ragdoll cat looks like a squirrel :rotfl:

Awwwwww, thanks for posting these updates. I feel like they are my virtual kittens as I've followed your story from the beginning. They are sooooooooo cute. I can certainly understand how difficult it would be to part from them.

That is interesting. Yes, she IS very, very soft...her coat is soft like angora. I can't say she is fearless, she is rather timid. One thing that is strange about her is that when you to pet her, she pulls away (like she is super sensitive to touch)...while the others lean into your hand when you pet them. She is super fearless with the other cats though.

She is also the biggest and heaviest of the kittens.

She is just the oddball of the bunch, LOL. Although, 3 of the kittens who were adopted also had the same fur texture and length. The 2 orange tabbies and the all black kitten. And from what I hear, that hasn't changed. While the short hair kittens have become sleek, the longer haired ones are getting fluffier.

Maybe she is part Maine Coon then...they're quite heavy :) Our ragdoll-mix is bottom heavy but not overweight (if that makes sense). She looks like a triangle when she sits down. She was about the same fur length as Piglet when she was 3 months old. She got fluffier as time went on. Apparently this is what leads DH's friend to deem her a squirrel (because of her "squirrel tail") :rotfl:

That's the thing, she's not overweight by any means. It's weird because she looks like she would be light...but she is heavy when you pick her up. I mean, heavier than the others. And she is longer too.

It could be Maine Coon, that wouldn't surprise me either.
