Considering this for our trip this fall. We’ve never done a MK dessert party. We will be a party of 3.

1. Are tables assigned or is it still first come, first serve?

2. Are there any tables for 3 along the rail?

3. If we have a poor view- are you still allowed to move your chair to a better spot 10 minutes before the show? Does anyone know where that spot is?

4. If you’ve done this before- Would you do this again or is this one and done?

It’s a pricey splurge, but might be good for hubby to be able to sit and relax…. I don’t know if he will want to do this but I may be to convince him.

Thanks!!

I went two years ago so not the most recent. It was first come first serve for seating. If I remember there were parties of 4 by the railing, and I don't remember anyone moving chairs before show.

I don't think I'd do this again. The view was fine (not great view of projections), but is was nice knowing you didn't have to fight for a view early and could hit a bathroom at your need without losing a spot. But the price was too high for the food offerings, the only savory offering was cheese and crackers.

I enjoyed Celebration at the top more, but only recommend that if it's all adults since you get unlimited cocktails there. It also has unpredictable dates so you never know if it will be available. I also would recommend the Rose and Crown dining package over the MK desert packages, it's cheaper and you get a full meal for less cost.

Thank you for sharing!! We love the Rose and Crown fireworks package and I agree it is a much better value. Hmmm… Will need to think on this a bit more. The idea of chilling with a glass of Prosecco and not being totally squished is very appealing. We are going in party season so the regular fireworks will just be a few nights, but we will be there for 10 days so maybe we can catch it 2 nights and do one dessert party and one as we usually do…. Thanks for letting me think out loud 😂

I just did the party a month ago. It was first come first served for the tables. No one moved their seats up to the railing from further back, because that would not be cool as it would mean blocking someone else's view. For me it was a one and done (April 2023) but I was traveling with someone who REALLY wanted to do it. I don't drink wine or beer, so stuck with the sparkling apple juice. I didn't even notice any prosecco :( I would have had that!

1. A Cast member takes you to your table and puts a reserved plaque on the table. They take your requests into account. So if you have a table preference - just ask.

2. I believe there was tables for 3-4 near the rail. Again I would just ask a cast member when you check-in for the party.

3. If it’s raining or thundering they pull all the tables back from the railings. If you have a poor view they let you bring a chair to the railing. *if the tables are pulled back. Its first come first served as far as space goes. Normally I think everyone stays seated and stays put at their table for the duration of the fireworks.

4. I would do this again and again. To be honest - when booking this party - it’s to be out of the weather (whatever it is) and not elbow to elbow in the hub or wherever. Sipping champagne 🥂 and having a seat to watch the fireworks and to take incredible pictures beforehand of the castle! 🏰 My advice is: if you have never seen Happily Ever After fireworks don’t do the Seats and Sweets. Do the Pre or Post. If you’re an Annual Passholder or someone that has seen the fireworks before consider Sweets and Seats for the seat not the view. View is slightly obstructed but still very enjoyable.
Hope this helps!

Thanks!! We will likely catch HEA twice while we are there. We have seen it before. Family loves the full on experience, but the idea of relaxing and sitting is veeeeerrry tempting!!!

We had an amazing experience at Casey’s in April. About an hour and 15 min before the fireworks we starting watching out for someone to leave a table, and got one on the rail. Direct view with no one standing in front of us, for the cost of a hot dog and a coke.

We did the s&s dessert party last September and I would not do it again.

The view of the castle projections are horrible. You only see partial projections on the right and those are somewhat blocked by trees to make a bad situation worse.

The before/after parties are much better. The projections are such an important part of the “feels” of the show that it’s just not worth the cost for the bad views.

Now, you do get to sit down for the whole show for the s&s whereas with the before/after shows you stand during the actual show, so some might determine sitting for the whole thing is worth the bad views.

We were a party of two sat at the railing.
It seemed like the tables were pre-planned as the CM led us to a particular table, but maybe we were just lucky.

No one moved seats to the railing when the show started when we were there.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I will talk to my hubby and see what he wants to do. It’s a shame the seating doesn’t offer a better view, or savory snacks like pre covid for that matter.

I would like to add my experience from last month. It was a girls trip and just me and my Disney friend. What no one really has commented on yet is how early you need to line up to get one of those close tables.

I would say the line started building about an hour before seating time so about 7:00 for the 8:00 reservation. We rode people mover first and as we passed the line about 6:30 there was one or two parties already in line. Once we rode the ride there were at least 7 parties in front of us and the line just kept growing behind us.

We had the absolutely most perfect table right at the rail without even asking. No you can’t see the projections very well but Tink literally flew right over our heads and I ate my weigh in chocolate covered strawberries. My friend drank 3 glasses of Prosecco and I drank a glass plus moscato. I don’t know if we got our monies worth in food and beverage but combined seating with getting out of the crowds was 10000% worth it for these old bones! Will definitely book again.

Did you notice what the seating situation was like for anyone who didn't show up until close to 8:00? I was planning to book it to relax prior to and during the fireworks. I think that standing in line for an extended time before check in would negate any benefit for us.

Thank you- that is helpful to keep in mind!

I would say that by 7:15 or so there were many families in line behind us. I know what you mean about getting in line an hour before you can actually get in the venue defeats part of the purpose of having a “reserved” spot but once I realized so many others were lining up it didn’t make sense to be in the back of the line and risk a less than ideal table so we just leaned against the wall and made due. But it was not ideal.

I miss the days when the tables were assigned based on when you booked the party. Then there was no reason to line up like it’s new IPhone release day!

Thank you for replying to my question, but my question was asking about the quality of table placement and view for those showing up right at 8:00, or maybe 7:50 at the earliest. I'm trying to figure out if this is worth booking for my family knowing we will not get in line early. It's the same reason that we never end up watching the fireworks from inside the park. We aren't staking out a spot far in advance, not happening. I was thinking to book the party to not have to stake out our spot early and to finally watch the show from in the park. If we have to line up early, I've accomplished nothing by reserving and paying for a party. This is the impression I'm getting from your posts but if I'm wrong, and you think we would still have a decent view arriving between 7:50 and 8:00 please let me know.

I really cannot answer your question because we did get seated as soon as they opened up at 8:00. As I mentioned there were quite a few parties lined up behind us so anyone getting in line right at opening will obviously be behind all those that stood in line for an hour or so.

I would hate for you to show up at 7:50 or 8:00 and be behind the crowd and get a less than desirable table at my word that it will be okay. Perhaps someone that has done just this will reply. Whatever you decide have a wonderful trip!

Agree- I’m thinking that to do this, the “safest” bet for a table by the rail is to show up an hour before…. I have seen reports that people with tables further back could move their chairs closer for the show, but that does not seem to be consistent.

I can report no one moved their seats closer to the railing during our show. Frankly the way the tables were set up (quite close together) there would not have been room for anyone to do that. I wish they went back to assigning the seats based on when you booked then there would be no need to line up an hour early.

Thank you. You've been really helpful. I was all set to book this, TWICE. I was going to do it for a regular night and for the Halloween Party, but now I'm not going to do either. You just saved me 💲💲💲 and disappointment.

Thanks. I wonder if they ended up reconfiguring and adding more tables to the rail area.

So, sounds like the bottom line is to show up an hour early to be on the safe side of getting a table at the rail, and even then the view is less than stellar due to the projections being somewhat obstructed and also on the center of the castle, with the view being more of the side of the castle.

That said, could be a more relaxing way to watch the fireworks and a way to sit and take a load off- because even with the pre and post show, people eventually stand.

Thanks friends!!

These were my take aways from this conversation as well. I agree with you about doing it to "sit and take a load off". We are staying at the Contemporary with a Theme Park View, so for us it just makes sense to head back and watch from the balcony, and not deal with the crowds.
Thank you for starting this thread. It really helped me out. I hope your trip is Magical and Awesome!
