Which thread then, because I've spent a huge amount of time reading and posting on this subject and I haven't see one...let alone seen enough to make the blanket statement of it being the "democrat's strategy" that was made.

I've seen plenty in the mainstream media and among the Democratic politicians to state that I'm certain it's the Democrats strategy. But I was assuming we're talking more specifically about the DIS boards. And I'd rather not single out individual posters, they're not even ones that I'm that familiar with. But some of them have posted quite vehemently that it's all the fault of Bush/the feds. All.

Sorry to leave the conversation in mid-stream - gotta go pick up the carpool.

Yes, that's what I was talking about. No need to point out individuals, just point me to the thread.

Blanket statements come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

Maybe you could point me to the threads???

Still no comments on the message. Did Bush actually think that everything went OK as indicated in ''I said because of all that went wrong, of all that didn't go right last week.' And he said 'What didn't go right?''?

I'm not sure why you would expect people to comment on something that we don't even know if true. :confused3

I think he wants to know what Nancy thinks didn't go right. I'd like to know too.

I certainly want a full investigation for answers to what went wrong, but I don't necessarily believe those answers will come from Pelosi anytime soon.

Again...why is it that some people can't defend a position without attacking their opposition ? :confused3

Umm, the best offense is a good defense?

If Bush actually said, "What didn't go right?" somebody needs to confine him to the Astrodome for a week so the survivors can tell him.

I agree. It's odd how she doesn't talk about her response to his question.

Yes, I want to know the answer to 'what didn't go right?'. However, it seems that most people are focusing on Pelosi as the issue not response to Katrina. Someone, I think Charade but I could be wrong, posted that this story was on the morning news with just one difference. Bush's answer was not the 'what, etc.' but 'Thanks for the Suggestion'. So the basis of the story is true just what was really the response.

Either one is terrible. The first as reported by AP shows either indifference or incompetence while the second one reeks of sarcasm which is still not the kind of response a president should make on this disaster.

Yeah, because God knows, none of his political opponents have been sarcastic in the last week.

Not to mention that fact that I'm curious as to why you would just assume "Thanks for the suggestion" is sarcastic.

Context of the meeting. Question and statement by Pelosi followed by Bush Comment. It just, in words, sounds like it. Bush is loyal to a fault. He does not like to fire or criticize employees, ie. Medal of Freedom to George Tenet as an example. Coupled with Bush's inability to admit to mistakes of any kind. Remember his response to a question during the Kerry debates. 'No I can't think of any'.

And how would your company react if your manager hired their brother in law who screwed off all the time, messed up constantly and acted like a child around customers?

President (or in the case of FEMA, Brown) is not just like everyone else. He holds his entire countries existance in the palm of his hand.

Responsibility is the key.

Seeing as this is all nothing more than hearsay from a person that has made a second career of blaming President Bush for everything, I don't see how you can even assume to know what the context or conversation was.

So he should fire someone just because you and Nancy Pelosi think he should?

:rotfl2:

Okay... this one degenerated into political name calling.
