I have no doubt that VMK will stay open. The kiosks going away was just because of a silly deadline.

I'm with the majority here. I don't know how long it'll stay open, but I don't expect it to close down anytime soon. There are now over 6,000,000 players in the game (going by guest numbers) and granted, there are a lot of mules, but still I know there aren't 6,000,000 mules. That's a lot of individual people. The game is going too strongly to shut down.

It's kind of a faulty number, really....

Disney XD uses those same guest numbers for usernames not yet approved. Also, don't forget the number of people who register...and never return to play. Such as the people who created characters at WDW or DLR just because it was there and it looked like fun. But when they got back home, they didn't play. I'm sure there were a bunch of people like that. Then you have the people who played for awhile, but no longer do. Then of course, as you already mentioned, the mules. I've heard of people having 20 mules or more...100 people with 20 mules already makes up 2000 "players". So as you can see, it can very quickly add up.

I think that if the game were really going that strongly, they'd need a much bigger server to be able to handle more than a few thousand players at a time. But they don't need bigger servers because we rarely even see the game reach its max capacity...which is what? 7000 players?

I don't foresee the game going down tomorrow, but I am not seeing it in existence for a long run. I highly doubt 10 year bans will be that needed, as I really doubt that VMK would be around that long. I said in another thread that small things added to games are great, but any time I start seeing big things being taken away from a game, that's usually not a very good sign. VMK is certainly not promoted the way it used to be. It has quieted down considerably.

Rightly or wrongly, I believe the game's days are numbered. I firmly believe in my gut it's either going to become pay-to-play or it's going to be phased out in the next year or so. Yavn said it's not closing, but Yavn also said not to worry, that we could keep questing at WDW. Yup, that was true, but only for a few months worth of time. If it's not bringing in dough for the WDC, and it's not tied in to the parks anymore by giving you more incentive to go, I don't see the point of it from a business standpoint. Just my opinion, and not based on "insider information" of any sort. I just don't think things bode well for the future.

He also said that there will still be VMK stuff in WDW and some quest so he lived up to his word.

VMK has done what it intended to do, which is generate buzz for Disney and Increase park attendance. The VMK pins sold at a rate 5 times faster than any other general release pin ever. VMK is here to stay, they are just changing things up a bit, which is nessecary, instead of VMK Central, they will have more ride/shop specific cards. They may institute some kind of pay system, but I think it will be just a "bonus" on top of the alrwady free VMK, such as a pay specific shop in New Orleans or soemthing of that nature (which would be very cool actually.)

Yavn also made mention of magic being released, which did not happen. Yavn said there would be Peter Pan ride parts, those are not here either. ;)
The thing is, he never says when. So that is really pointless until:
1. He gives us a date and we pass it (magic carpet, anyone?)
Or
2. VMK closes and we never get those items.

I really don't think it will be pay to play...it isn't now, but there are some VMK goodies you can get now by paying for real things (Pirate pins, hats, candy). I think it will be more like that.

Yavn said that the Pan ride parts will start becoming on sale in the FALL not the end of SUMMER. And actually he never mentioned new magic being released (flying carpet magic) he just simply changed the subject to the turkey legs. We are probably not going to get the new magic for a while. Ex[ect the Peter Pan ride parts to be sold September-November timeline.

I've noticed something about yavn... he'll say 1 thing but it won't happen. Just like they said.. he said he would release a new magic. but it never happened. I don't know if we should listen to him or just not pay attention because everything else he has said didn't happen. :confused3

I went with pay-to-play. I think disney just wants our money so they could have just set this up like a few others have said..

He also said that the trading card game would be released, the one where you actually get items. Did they ever release it? No! Yavn needs to stop lying to us, and give us the things.

It wouldn't matter. VMK is closing remember? :sad2:
