latest FOP Rope drop during extra morning magic

I did rope drop last week during early morning hours. I left my resort, Yacht club about 7:20. Grabbed a Lyft and got to Animal Kingdom about 7:45. BTW Lyft was about nine dollars. When I got there, lines were very short for baggage check and tickets. Once I got in the park, which was about 7:55, they were already letting guests in. Resort guests walked to the left and had to get their magic bands checked. Everyone was walking over to FOP and we lined up outside and they let groups into the inside line. I though it would take forever, but the whole thing line and ride only took about 50 min. Once we got into the regular line things went very fast and there is a lot to see. The whole experience was was less hectic and stressful than I thought it would be. I would not hesitate to do it again. The only downside was you could hear many people around me talking about how they were not staying at Disney resorts, so I did not understand how they got in. Maybe they were at the Disney Springs area hotels???

We were there last week also and did FOP two different rope drop days. We remarked how easy it would be for nondisney hotel guests to get in if you were with someone else. They just checked one person's hotel card for whole parties. We stayed at Swan and we all were digging for our keys when they said just one key and tell us how many in your party.

Our plan is to arrive by 7:30 on our AK day for an 8am entry. We have a FP+ for later but we love the ride so much we want to do it twice.
