I am wondering what is the latest dining time anyone has secured for the Fantasmic Dinner Pkg?

For our trip in March we have 5:05 at Hollywood Brown Derby. This is our 5th year to do Fantasmic Dinner Package and that is the latest we have ever received.

I think it depends on the time of the first show... since that's the show the fantasmic package is for.... For a 6:30pm show, we did the fantasmic package in 2009 and 2010.... and both meals were around 4pm. The last trip, it was 3:50 at Brown Derby. That was fine for us.... We had lunch at 11am at SciFi (I think it opens 11am).

I looked back at a few of my past years' spreadsheets because I was curious...

In May 2005, at Hollywood & Vine, we had an ADR for 4:30 pm w/ Fantasmic at 9:00 pm.

In June 2006, at Mama Melrose's, we had an ADR for 6:20 pm w/ Fantasmic at 9:00 pm. (I have NO idea how I lucked out getting an ADR for a FDP this late... I do remember I kept calling for later times. I think, that particular year, they would open later ADR times closer to the actual dates, IIRC.)

In June 2008, at Mama Melrose's, we had an ADR for 5:20 pm w/ Fantasmic at 9:00 pm.

For this September, since now you can schedule Fantasmic Lunch Packages as well as dinner, I may try Brown Derby for lunch instead of dinner so we can have a later dinner time...

Last year I didn't call as early as I could have but it was about 165 days out and all I could get for MM was 3:30. This year I'm planning on calling at the 180 day mark and hoping for something later because we will be in a different park that morning and I don't want to even get there until 5 or so. If they are only having Fantasmic 2x a week in August, how bad is it to go without the FDP (8:30 show) ? We went once in July without FDP and got there about an hour before the show and had to stand UGH. Since then we have always booked the pkg, but it's not fitting well for us this year, unless I can get 5:30 or so.

OP I'm not sure if it was a fluke last year or if things have changed, because the trip before I was able to get a 5:45 MM with no problem for an 8:30 show.

I was only able to get a 2:10pm late lunch at Mama Melrose with a 9pm Fantasmic show. So that will be my sleep in day, do some rides, lunch and then shop (oh yea) and finish out the day and end the nite with the show.

When I called at our 180th day at 7:00 am, I received a 3:10pm ADR at HBD(took it, but wasn't thrilled), then I went online a couple months later and was able to get a 4:20pm. I decided to check a few days ago and secured a 5:00pm--woohoo!(lol)

I think 5:00pm is pretty close to the latest you can get. One year, we were able to get 5:15, but that doesn't happen too often. GL

This is exactly the day I'm hoping for, for our trip in August and hoping for a Fantasmic Pkg.

Sorry for my ignorance,
Do you stay in the restaurant the whole time until it's time for the fantasmic fireworks?
example: 4:30 ADR. you are there for 5 hours until 9:30 fireworks?

Oh gosh no! You eat your meal, and then I believe they give you the tickets, and then you go on your way.

thanks for the quick response.

That makes more sense. what time do you go back?
do you get a seat when you comeback?

For the Fantasmic dinner/lunch package, you go to the restaurant at the time of your ADR and that is when you eat. When you are finished they give you a ticket for Fantasmic. You go to the theatre about 45 minutes before the scheduled show. There is a reserved section for package folks and it is first come seating within that reserved section.

Thanks everyone. Our flight gets in at 2:45pm and I am hoping for a 5pm dinner time for the pkg. We just want to go to Dinner and the show that night. I am going to call at 180days, the show is at 9pm in August.

We have never done the package because of the times. IMHO, the best they can be called is a late lunch.:rotfl2:

My experience with both of my trips to WDW in 2010 found EVERYTHING pre-booked and no reservations available--even if I was totally flexible with restaurant and time. Was very disappointing and nothing I had ever experienced before. Hope it's not a trend!

Did you book as early as you could? If staying on site you can book for your entire trip (up to ten days) at the 180 day mark so you don't have to go back each day and book your ADRs. Also the online booking opens up 1 hr before the phone line do. I will be online at 6am on 3/15 to make my ADRs :surfweb:
