I know i'm beginning to sound redundent but what do you think would be better, later park hours in june 2nd week and later hours at the park or smaller crowd mid may and earlier park closings, we've only ever gone in september so we've never been when the parks are open later except on weekends what do you think? thanks dismemaw

If I had the choice I would go smaller crowds as well! It will also be slightly cooler perhaps?

I have to agree I'd go in May.The weather is nicer and with the crowds smaller it is MUCH easier to get everything done that you'd like VS hot weather, larger crowds= cranky people :)

Is Memaw what your Grandkids call you? That's what we called my Mom's mother...Memaw!:)

Definitely smaller crowds. We always go off season and you get so much more done with the smaller crowds. It's nice to kind of be "forced" to relax a little and not be obsessed with parks. Epcot is open later so you can spend evening there. Take advantage of and E-ride night to get more out of MK. Spend more time at Downtown Disney..go to Cirque.

Yep, another vote for smaller crowds. It is the best of both worlds. You get just as much done in the parks with the shorter hours because there are fewer people to contend with and then you have more time to do all the things Disney offers that are not in the parks. Downtown Disney, The Boardwalk, movie and campfire at Fort Wilderness, mini-golf..etc. etc. or just time to enjoy your resort or check out other resorts. That's an attraction in itself they are all so well themed. I love going in the off-season.

Another vote for smaller crowds -- and cooler weather. You'll get so much more done, and everyone will be less cranky, when you don't have to put up with the heat and the crowds. Mid-May isn't empty by any means, or even cold, but the crowds are definitely smaller than those in June and it is a little cooler. You can always end your days at Epcot, which is what we usually do when we go.

Smaller crowds! After DH and my last trip the week after Thanksgiving (almost no crowds) I swore I would only ever vacation ANYWHERE in off-peak seasons again. This year we're doing WDW the week of TG which will probably be awful crowds, but the in-laws (almost all school teachers) have time off then. The way I see it, a vacation any time is better than none at all, but when given the choice, take the off-peak, less crowded times!
