Later Check Out Time?

OK, after all the planning and excitement and now only nine days away to the start of our AWESOME vacation. My DW and I realized that, "Wow we are on vacation, and from the first to last day we do not get to sleep in at all. We are going from APril 5th-8th(checkout day ). I figured that we can sleep in that last morning, I read somewhere about requesting a late check out. We are staying at one of the Allstar resorts.
Ok, the guestions
Is it possible to get a late checkout and how late is a late checkout? Does it cost extra and when should it be requested?

Check-out is at 11:00am, you would have to request a late-check out when you check-in. They may give you an extra hour or so. They don't always grant late-check outs but if they do grant it there isn't an additional charge.

you can ask at check in and it's around 1:00
there have been times when we've gotten it and sometimes not-
I read where someone said you have to ask mousekeeping but I have always asked at check in and they tell me yes or no.
I've only asked 3 times
2 times yes and 1 no

I don't know about the All-Stars, but back in 2004 & 2005 when we used to stay at POP, we would call the front desk the day before check-out, & we were always granted a late check-out of 1:00pm (had to be out by then). There was no fee.

**This was in early May, during the "slower season".

I've called the front desk the morning of our checkout day and told them that we were running behind--I've always been given extra time without a problem.

Generally speaking, this goes for all WDW resorts ...

Late check-out is granted on availability basis. When granted:

Until 1:00 p.m. -- free

Until 3:00 p.m. -- 50% of the daily rate

After 3:00 p.m. -- 100% of the daily rate

Except for DVC resorts. No late checkout because it takes so long to clean the villas. And the villas are usually booked at least 95% or more.
