Well, it's late day Friday here at work and I was wondering if any of you had a funny story to tell, perhaps something that happened on your DVC vacation.

I've only been a member since June of 2005, so I do not have many stories to tell, but I guess the thing that sticks out in my mind is the time, this last vacation, when I brought MY FIL. He complained about practically everything and then told people that he had a great time. He even complained about the 2-br at VWL having too many mirrors in the living room. I guess one can cross off vanity from the list of his traits. Don't get me wrong, I love the man greatly and he was a great help to me along the way, but his complaining has gotten to the point of it being humorous. I was wondering if anybody out there has a funny story to tell. popcorn::

On a stay at OKW (we had only been in one or two bedrooms), we decided to pay cash for our first night in a studio. We had a studio reservation coming up for the next trip after that and we wanted to try it out. After that one night we would be checking into a one bedroom on points for 7 nights. We get to the desk to check in and the CM tells us that they were going to put us in a one bedroom and we would be able to stay in that one bedroom for the rest of our trip. We wouldn't have to check out and check in.

Both my husband and I started to stammer and stumble and tell the CM that we didn't reserve a one bedroom, we reserved a studio and we were supposed to be in a studio. It didn't dawn on us that they were upgrading our cash night to a one bedroom (for the discounted price of a studio) until about 5 minutes later. Duh.

One year we were headed to OKW and on the way our 4 year old daughter asked how long we were going to be staying. Well it was a long travel day and everyone was a little tired.I, being the rocket scientist that I am, responded, "we are staying for 7 days and 6 nights".My daughter busted out crying saying, "you mean we're not allowed to sleep one night".:lmao::rotfl:
My wife could have killed me.

Now that's a good one. Got me laughing out loud.

A few years ago, we were on one of our wonderful 14 day WDW/Vero vacations. We had arrived on the 9:30 am flight in and hit the parks asap and stayed at them until closing. As we crawled back to our room at BWV, my son, then 7 said, " Wow, that was a long vacation." We were all hysterical being he had 13 days left to go and he was already beat. Poor kid! Guess I overdid it that day... nah!

I have 2....

Back in 2000 it was my kids' first trip to WDW. I booked a lot of character dinners because I thought they would enjoy them. After 5 or 6 in a row, we finally had an ADR for a dinner at a restaurant without characters. Fearing that they would be disappointed I explained to them that for this dinner we would not be seeing characters. My then 5 year old DD looked at me and said "finally I get to eat in peace". I guess I overdid it a little.

My second story is from our trip this July. We were at the World of Disney shopping and my 5 year old DS was getting bored. So he went over to the window and started posing with the manequins. Whenever anybody walked by outside the window he would make a sudden movement to surprise them. He had people outside in absolute stitches. People were posing for pictures with him outside the window. There was one large group of teenage girls in particular who all took a turn having their picture taken with him. He was attracting a very large crowd outside of the window. It was really very funny. I wonder if I can get him a job there? :rotfl:

Our very first trip to WL, we ate at WCC, I didn't have a clue of what the restaurant was like. Total surprise! It was my DGS 3rd birthday, I asked for water to drink, the server brought out a gallon mason jar, with a straw to match, then he yelled, get out of the way! She is going to have to run to the bathroom! My DGS, age 3, covered his eyes with his hand, lowered his voice, just as serious as serious can be, and said," It's going to be a bad day!" I had to explain to him that the server was playing a game and we needed to play with him. He ended up having a great time, but we had never witnessed such behavior in a restaurant!
