Why-DS's 7th birthday
We started out our trip at EPCOT. This is my sons favorite park. We always ask him where he wants to go and this is the first place he wants!! I had gotten him a birthday hat. Looked like a cake and had candles and was decorated. Said "Happy Birthday" on it. Very noticeable from about 50 yards. LOL!!
Well, Chris loves to be near the front so off he goes. He is not timid at all. So he is standing up near the front wearing his hat. The cast member, who's name was also Chris saw him. He asked him if he wanted to help open the park. So he came back to ask us. We said sure. So off we go to the front. He tells Chris that when the rope drops that he needs to wave everyone in. The characters come up and they drop the rope. Chris sees that people are trying to come in before they are told to. He holds his hand out in front of him telling the people to stop. It was so funny. Chris waves everyone in. They gave him two passes to get to the front of the line. One for helping open the park and one for his birthday.
Off to guest services to make priority seating for the Garden Grill. This is our favorite restaurant at EPCOT. We try to eat there on every trip. Well, the CM sees the hat and makes a phone call. Tells Chris that someone left a message for him. It is a call from Goofy, wishing him a happy birthday. Not only that but she gave him an autographed picture of Mickey and Minnie, a list of the hidden Mickeys and a bunch of stickers with Minnie and Mickey.
Now we are off to ride Mission Space. Chris is almost running to it. Well, we get there and the girl gives us a pass to go to the Fast Pass line. Tells him happy birthday. He loved the ride. So we go on it again. This time I am feeling a little green. So we go to the area after the ride. We decide to play the game. Well, he wants to be one of the people up front. Well, They had enough people for that but because he was 7 they had a special space for him. So he was "Booster Commander" for the Orion team. When they were ready he hit the Boost button. Thought that was a nice touch.
Next we are off to Test Track. The wait was 90 minutes long. So we grab a Fast Pass. Then we are off to check out MouseGear. Love that store. We are browsing and I see someone I know from work. Imagine that, LOL!!
So we are ready for our fast pass. We do Test Track. Still love this ride even though we have been on it many times before. Now we are off to our priority seating at the Garden Grill. They had noted that it was his birthday. So we eat our food and are waiting for our dessert. They brought out a cake for him. They sang Happy Birthday and made big fuss. Was very thrilled.
We have done the countrys before so we decide to head over to Ellen's Energy Adventure. Chris loves this ride. We make it just in time for the next show. Then we are off to the Magic Kingdom.
