Does Universal have any free dining offers like Disney does? We are considering a trip to see the WWoHP, but have never strayed from Disney before, so I'm short on info.
Thanks.

They actually have something with kids free dining with the purchase of an adult entree, but I think that is only at the hotels.

you have to book a package and stay on site for that meal deal.
when you break it all down, it's not really that appealing.
you end up paying more in the long run.

you would have to leave the park and spend time in the hotel restaurants to accomplish a free kids meal which btw, is limited.

park hours are shorter late september.
you would want to spend more time in the parks probably.

Yes, I was pretty sure it was limited to some (not all) of the hotel restaurants. I don't believe, for example, that HRC is included. As far as it being a package and staying onsite, I guess I just assumed the OP would know that since that is Disney's policy as well.

I agree, it's not something I would find worthwhile, particularly since we don't eat in the hotels anyway.

rip you are correct.

that kids eat free promo package is only for the 3 onsite hotels.

the adults eat off the regular menu and some things are a tad high in price.

the kids, one per adult entree ordered, gets a kids meal and the selection is limited.

the adult needs to order an entree not an appetizer for the deal.

Thanks, I think it expires at the end of Sept. as well but I'm not certain on that one either.

OP, Universal tickets are so much cheaper than Disney that I think you still come out way ahead without "free" dining. The on-site Universal hotels are truly luxury hotels, as opposed to Disney's idea of Deluxe. And if you choose to stay offsite, there are several decent place within walking distance that are affordable.

We stayed at the Doubletree last time we were there, got a rate of less than $70 a night, and were about a block and half away from the on-site hotels. It took us all of 8 minutes to walk to the Universal entrance from our hotel, and they provided a shuttle service if you choose not to hoof it.

Thanks, MarilIncredible. We are used to Disney and so I'm a little clueless about Universal. There are so many secrets and ins and outs about Disney I thought I should see what I could find out.

The layout seems very different too - you just park at one site and walk or get shuttles everywhere else?
