Late Summer/Early Fall Incentives

Question: say I were to buy now for an October use year, would I be able to use magical beginnings immediately, then get my new points drop October 2025?
Last year when I bought in October, I got a Dec UY, was able to use magical beginnings immediately, and my 2024 points for my January trip.

Yes. Your 2025 points will be there to use as soon as the contract is loaded.

So am I doing this math right....

Regular price of VDH is $245 per point. If one were to purchase 150 points, it brings that down to $215 per point?

Then if you were to use Magical Beginnings, it basically takes that down to $195 per point?

(No, we aren't looking to purchase points right now. Just curious and taking notes for the future.)
That's my read.... and though I'm unlikely to buy a DL DVC, I am very drawn to the idea and would be compelled to pull the trigger if I was a 1 trip to DL 1 trip to WDW family...

And after you nicely asked them to transfer your sale to a new guide?
We have been agreeing a lot lately. :hyper2:

100% I would get a new guide. Even if I felt a little bit of attachment to the current guide. I want someone who is willing to do what it takes to get my sale. My current guide proved himself to me on that one, he had to make several calls but he did what was needed to get my business.

Quick thought, would you guys recommend splitting 150 points into 2 contracts of 75 or 3 contracts of 50?
One reason I divided my initial purchase of 300 points into two 150 point contracts was the ability to pass those on to my two children. I’m not sure if it is actually correct, but my guide seemed to imply that that would ensure they could get the direct member benefits if I pass one on to each child (if you were to pass three 50 pt contracts to them, would it do the same? I’m not sure). At any rate, I don’t care because I do not see myself selling those 300 points ever really. Now, for anything more, it will be 50 point contracts for ease of resale and flexibility.

Is it your first contract or an add-on? They didn’t let me split my first 150 but they let me split the remaining 100 into a separate contract. But I have heard vastly inconsistent answers from others. That seems to be a theme. If it’s an add on in my opinion 75 is a sweet spot.
I have 125 PVB resale so no direct points

Right now, we're basically doing 1 DL and 1 WDW a year (give or take...some spacing is 6 months apart, some 18 months. Depends on the year.) We have resale at VGC but we eventually want more points to stay in a 1-bedroom. On the fence about more VGC resale or direct VDH. Time will tell....

So I lost on this and had to do one 150 direct, after that they let me split up as I felt like as long as I paid the doc fee and a minimum of 50 for RIV. This was in 2022

If this is your qualifying contract, it’s probably the last one you’d ever sell. I was OK with leaving it as a 150.

But again guides are very inconsistent so ask.

Glad to hear that's the case since I have the same guide. lol. He's been very patient with me, in spite of my focus on value (or lack thereof). My biggest reason I like him though is that he is knowledgeable about what can and cannot be done.

He is very straight forward and to the point. He is patient yet isnt chit chatty either. Like him alot.

Got a couple of my own, pretty sure if they don’t have 150 points each they wouldn’t get benefits but hey that’s future me’s problem!

My understanding: If you passed 3 separate 50 point contracts to the same person they would get the direct member benefits. Splitting 150 into three 50 point contracts to give one to each of three people means none of them get direct benefits, since none of them would hold the minimum needed for benefits.

I would definitely want to do 3 50 point contracts, that would get direct benefits that they couldnt take away later as long as I didnt sell one right? I think 50 pt contracts will be hot tickets once the resort sells out although it wont get you very far there 🤣🤣

As long as you keep 150 direct it doesn't matter how they're split up :)

Your understanding is correct. Note however, the beneficiaries could each purchase enough additional direct points to get to the minimum at that time (for example 100 more if 150 minimum) and have direct benefits again.

Having looked over all these incentives: I’d actually personally consider Animal Kingdom, but split into smaller contracts. I like Animal Kingdom. And the smaller contracts don’t lose as much value. It would be my number one budget pick for this round. Poly would be my number two pick, if money isn’t an issue. VDH is my number three.

I don’t think there is an objectively correct answer (beyond CFW is a money pit…but who knows, with fewer total points and Fort diehards, maybe their resale will drop less than VDH and RIV??), but if money was no object for me, of the current promo available resorts I’d go:
1. AKV (Savanna view is incredible, dining great, pools look fun)
2. RIV (we’re Epcot people)
3. AUL (already own enough there)
4. PVB (I like it so much but egads the crowds)
5. CFW (internal transit loop plus lack of W/D)
6. VDH (this would be higher if I didn’t already own VGC)

Considering value for points, point chart, and my top secret HMPGPT resale prediction algorithm I would go:
1. AKV (people underestimate the savings of low point chart)
2. PVB (not being restricted would keep resale higher by $30-50 for at least two more decades)
3-5. AUL/RIV/VDH
6. CFW (likely to cost the most over time, absent a dues miracle)
