Late spring 2025 incentives (April 29-July 14)

That's great! I would honestly settle for preferred view, but there are so few of them which is why I think I may eventually need PVB to secure what I am looking for.

It's so hard! I keep looking for a deal, but I know how simple direct is. MB automatically lowers it 20 points and with promotions it makes it about $200 per point depending on incentive tier. If I can save another ~20% with credit cards that brings me to about $160 which is on par with some resale contracts that aren't stripped and I can pick the exact number of points and size of contracts I want. Decisions, decisions!
Nothing hits like points loaded same day on direct vs waiting 60-120 days for resale

I thought it would get easier the more contracts I have but nope, 9 days into ROFR and mad as hell lol
My easiest was my first, now that I know what I know now its was amazing. But I was on here complaining about it during that time. Each purchase has taken longer and longer and one almost causing a nervous breakdown.

My first one was a hot mess and I got so sick of waiting amd bored that I bought another one during to have something else to look forward to 🤣🤣🤣

That one was great and now this one is having issues so MAYBE a 4th one would be speedy and it switches off every contract 🤣🤣 Probably because if I do buy a 4th one it WILL be direct!

I have the worst view, resort. But i am happy to watch the fireworks on the beach 😀 i don't have enough points to go for tp view yet so I'm really hoping this SSR pushes through.

If it does i already have my strategy to try to book 2 tp view nights on it 1 night waitlist at a time then modify current reservation to two nights if it hits so I don't go under my borrowed points... all of this is like a chess game, but I love the challenge even tho it drives me crazy 🤣🤣

What makes it so hard for me is resale allows extra points which means more vacations and better rooms. I think if this resale goes thru I can justify direct more, crazy enough, because then I will have enough points for my needs regardless and can wait it out for a great deal if that ever happens and if it doesnt still be satisfied.
I actually prefer resort views at VGF and in the longhouses it's not bad if you're not on one side of Pago Pago. I can't say I would never do Island Tower resort view, but if I am buying for 41 years I will splurge. Theme park view will probably be the last to fill, but do I take that chance annually?

"Add-on-itis" is talked about a lot here, but it's no joke. I never think I have enough points. If I purchase PVB it will replace a VGF studio trip ~200 points with a PVB one bedroom trip ~500 points. How does that make sense? It doesn't :rolleyes1

If I were to purchase VGF resale I think I could handle that wait since I could just swap the points in to any existing reservation and bank forward. A new resort that I want the 11-month booking advantage of would be hard.

It's bad when you're worried that you will like a resort. We are staying at PIT and Riv. That is no coincidence. I have a "which one do I like after staying there better" secret direct purchase mission to accomplish 🤣🤣

What happens if you like BOTH!?! o_O

All I know is the worse the incentives get the more I am pushed to resale and therefore not going to purchase direct. They should have grabbed me when I had rose colored glasses on, now I know too much 🤣🤣
This! Me! I was ready to write a contract just before the price increase at the Poly but some bad health news put things in perspective. I will buy Poly someday but I no longer expect it to be direct.

If the mini me wants direct points she can buy them herself someday!

I was literally ready to sign on the dotted line and backed out very last minute. For the situation now, I'm glad I did for the time being

I had appointment to write the contract with my guide and I cancelled. I paid cash for my resale and just couldn't get over the ledge on financing something that isn't house, vehicle, or college. The right deal could come along that entices me but this isn't even close to it.

I don't blame disney for these incentives. They are typically slow to react to economic pressures. Sometimes that works in their favor. I choose to think it worked in mine, too!

Same here i have no business getting into another contract now 🤣

I would buy PIT for the non resale restrictions. Now that I think of it i should have booked a stay in the og too to analyze the total package 🤣
You can always run in and tour one! I am not personally a huge fan even though the longhouse studios are some of the largest on property. The bathroom setup takes a big portion of the useable space and the longhouse studios are very dark. Dark enough that I used the TV at night muted for additional light.

Do they let you tour the longhouse studios??

I am selfishly hoping better incentives are released before my UY so I don't forgo 2024 points. Whether banking or selling back with MB I would only purchase this calendar year if I am still getting my 2024 UY points.

I told myself I didn't need to buy during the initial sale for members because I had all this time and am saving on the dues every month I wait. Let's see if that strategy works out in the end.
I actually wonder if “price integrity” isn’t a major part of what’s happening with PVB pricing right now. Disney wants to be able to get blockbuster opening sales numbers by telling members it’s the best price they’ll ever see. I believe they broke that trust with VDH and people were annoyed about it.

If they do much discounting of PVB this year, it could depress sales for Lakeshore Lodge as people wait to see if they can get a better deal and more points the following year.
