Nearly all of my trips to WDW have been in early December, but this year it looks like DGF and I will be making a trip in late September (week of 25th). Anyone out there that can give me some insight (Crowds, weather, special events, etc.)?

TIA

September is the month we used to always go to DW until our boys got older and it was more difficult for them to miss school. This is my favorite time to go because of the low crowds. We could walk on almost everything, no waits for the bathroom or food at counter service restaurants, and the weather is still pretty hot so you can enjoy the pools and water parks!!! The parks will close earlier, but with the low crowds you'll be able to get everything done before closing. The only negative (to me) is that Wishes probably won't be every night. :(

If it's anything like last year, you will have temps in the low 80s and lines no longer than about 5 minutes!

Officially my favorite time of year to visit! Of course, if the dates run into MNSSHP it will be more crowded during those events.

Wishes is shown each night.

We went Sept. 25 thru Sept. 29 2005 and it was awesome! No waits on anything (rides, restaurants, transportation). There was hardly anyone even walking around the parks during the week. But it was hot and humid midday and I'm from the south. At night and early morning it felt great. It never rained while we were there and I couldn't believe it because there are usually thundershowers briefly in the afternoons. I was apprehensive leading up to the trip because that is right in the middle of hurricane season but we got blessed with that too. We get affected by hurricanes every year where I live and even if you don't get the strong winds it can rain very hard all day for a few days which would not be great during vacation. This year we are going Oct. 29 thru Nov. 4 so it won't be as hot but that is still during hurricane season so I hope we have no troubles there. From reading old trip reports this also seems like a very slow time but I doubt it will be like Sept. The next year we will probably go in Sept. again because it was so great. First week of Dec. was too crowded for us when we went then so I hope I'm not disappointed this year. Oh, the end of the 50th year celebration is Sept. 30 this year so they might have something special going on that week that would increase crowds. Good luck.
