Trying to decide on a 3 day Wonder cruise at the end of September, but I'm a little concerned about the weather. I know it is still hurricane season, and was wondering from past September cruisers what the weather is really like in September in the Bahamas.

We have cruised twice in mid September, and the weather has been great both times. I think it all comes down to luck. This past year we were scooting along the edge of a hurricane and it still was very smooth except for one day. I thought it was pretty neat trying to walk down the hallway that night with out touching the walls. The rest of the trip was very smooth.

We often cruise in September/October. We sailed the first week in October a couple of years ago, and were actually re-routed due to a hurricane, but never encountered rough seas. The weather at Key West (we ended up there instead of St. Maarten) and Castaway Cay was great. Very warm, water temps very comfortable.

I think this is the best time of year to cruise, since the rates tend to be lower, but the weather is still very warm and the days still pretty long.

Be aware that a storm may re-route you, but this is not very common. It probably happens 2 or 3 times a year.
