Late seating question

My daughter and I are wondering if you have late seating for dinner, do you dress for dinner before going to the evening show or in between the show and dinner? Does it depend on what the show is and what the dress is for dinner that night?

We found the show to be about an hour more or less so we always seemed to have plent of time to go back and change and then enjoy a coctail in Beat Street. You'll find that some people are dressed for dinner and others are not so you won't be out of place either way. Hint: the theatre tends to be a little chilly, so bring a sweater!

We always take late seating and usually go to the show already dressed for dinner. In between the show and dinner (about an hour) we head to one of the game shows in Studio Sea or just sit in the Atrium and watch all the hustle and bustle with a drink. If we are really pressed for time before the show then we will get dressed for dinner after the show!!

We have done late seating both times, and always get ready before the show. I look at it as going out for the night. Plus, I dont want to be sitting in a show, covered with sunblock, sand, hair all crazy, etc...

Usually I dressed for dinner before the show. Sometimes, however, I would just shower and do my hair/makeup before the show and run back to the stateroom to put on my dinner outfit after the show. It really depended on what was going on between the show and dinner.

We really enjoyed late seating (with our DD7), and we usually dressed for dinner before the show. We always found things to do between the show and dinner (such as nice walks on the deck, checking out the photos in Shutters, and getting in line for the character appearances). This made for nice family evenings starting with the show and finishing with dinner.

Being from the West coast, we've always opted for late seating. We always dress up ourselves and the kids (DS6, DD3 & DD2) before shows because our kids like to take pictures with the characters. The hour between shows and dinners is the prime time for that. DCL has a schedule posted in the main atrium for photo ops with characters if you're interested.

We always dress for dinner before the shows. This way, we feel like we've been out for the evening, and we aren't sitting in the theater all yucky from sun block!

We have done both. It is nice not rushing to dress for dinner if you are busy having fun. Some people are dressed up at the show; others aren't. So at the show, it doesn't matter too much. There is about an hour between the show and dinner to change. You may find that some days it is easier to dress before the show and then enjoy one of the 7:30 programs. On other days you may be running late and want to go into the show before dressing for dinner.

This is why we like late seating. When we had early seating we had to dress for dinner early every day and some days we were just not ready to get dressed up yet. We only did early dinner once and for now on we plan to do late seating.

Thanks for your replies everyone. I guess we'll just go with the flow and see what each day brings.

We had early seating last time but all they had left this time was late which is ok because we are from the west coast and my kids are a little older.

Hey guys,

Didn't we all agree on another post that we weren't going to let the late seating seacret out!!!! LOL. My DD's 13 and 11 dressed prior to the show, and I, after. They are a little more high maitenance than I am.
