Tell me about your experiences with later seatings at character breakfasts, especially Tusker House!

We currently have a pre-opening ADR at Tusker House but I'm thinking it would fit our day better as a brunch. There's a 10:15 and 10:20 available, but the character breakfast officially ends at 10:30. How is the character interaction going that late? Is it unusually rushed as they prep to open for lunch at 11:30? How long is the breakfast food out before they start changing over the buffet?

From our experience with late ADRS, the character interaction is even better! The characters aren't rushed to make it around to all the tables, and they spend more time with the people who are still dining. Sometimes they even come around twice! We had a late dinner at Crystal Palace once, and when Tigger came around the second time, he actually sat down in my husband's chair (who was at the buffet) and spent several minutes playing with and interacting with my son. It was great! :thumbsup2

We did a 10:20 reservation in February and it worked out great; in fact, it was so great that we have a 10:15 when we go back in eary February 2011!

We were able to see the park opening ceremony and ride the safari before breakfast. We weren't rushed at all, the food was still hot and plentiful, and they were just starting to switch over to the lunch buffet when we left. Our server was great, and the characters came around twice and spent time with the kids. Daisy kept hugging my then-7 year old son... it was so cute. Goofy led the kids around the restaurant with little instruments.

The food was awesome, especially the ham! I highly recommend a late seating.

Have fun!!

One more note - because we ate a bit later, we ended up getting a snack around 3:30,which worked out great because we had a 6:30 ADR at WCC. We took the bus from AK to WL and explored the resort, and were hungry by the time we sat down to eat.

Hate to tell you this - but we had our worst ever Disney Dining experience at a late sitting Tusker House breakfast. The reason for this though was that they forgot about us and although we weren't the last to sit down in the waiting area - we were still sat there when everyone else had gone through to be seated. It was only when I went up to the podium, they realised their mistake and sat down. Everything was then so rushed - characters spent seconds with us (missed one completely) and they started clearing away food before we had finished eating - very poor and would never ever eat there again.
