Late PAT … Will we miss Cabanas?

Hello! Due to a last minute booking, we have the 2:45 PAT… If I remember correctly, Cabanas closes at 3:00? We are sailing out of Miami. What are the lunch options for guests that arrive late like us? Any chance they’ll let us do our PAT at 2:00, 2:15, or 2:30? Cheers!

Chances are open boarding will be called before your PAT. I'd suggest, if you can, arriving around 1-1:30 and waiting open boarding to be announced (if it hasn't been by then).

Also casual dining will be open around the pools and also room service is available as well when you board.

I could never wait until 2 or later for lunch - I'd eat before I got there if I had a late PAT.

Our last cruise we arrived at 1:30pm and the terminal was basically empty - no waiting to get through anything at all - so you would probably be fine to arrive well before 2:45pm. That said, we didn't want to be in the crowd of people at Cabanas anyway. We had gone to a restaurant at 11am and eaten a very early lunch/snack to prevent the kids from getting hangry, and once we boarded we went right to our room and ordered a couple of things to share from room service. It was super laid back and relaxed compared with our first cruise where we were right in the crush of things.

We'll be having a late breakfast before we leave the place we are staying, so a later lunch should be ok for us.

There's no real set time for open boarding. It generally happens after the bulk of the people board. We didn't even know there was such a thing as PAT until after about our 8th cruise when we went with friends who picked us up and we drove together. We always arrived from the WDW resorts and got there around 1-1:15 and basically walked on.

They may or may not enforce PATs after open-boarding. I’ve seen conflicting reports. Not sure if it’s dependent on ship/port or why.

I don't know when your cruise is, but sometimes earlier port arrival times open up so you may want to check for that also.

I cruised twice out of Miami for MDAS in January and even though I had early Pat for the first cruise and b2b preboarding for the second, I saw on the FB groups for both cruises that open boarding started fairly early (don't recall exact time but I think it was even a bit before 1) Open boarding depends on what time they start boarding and what time the bulk of people have moved out of the terminal. Check in and boarding at Miami was super smooth!
