Late Parents' points transferred to my name seamlessly

I had asked late last year how to go through the process to change the points from a joint contract with my parents for which I was an associate member, after both my mother and stepfather passed away last year. It took a while to go through the probate process and close out the estate, so I wasn't able to submit the deed until last month, but the process was pretty seamless with DVC.

I had points from my own contract purchased in 1996, and when purchasing, my parents also bought points at the same time, adding me to their points as an associate member so I could do all the booking as we usually went together certain times of the year. I controlled both contracts' points and did all the booking and banking for both mine and theirs.

My stepfather passed away first in August 2023, and since he and my mother were both on the title as owners, it was easy enough to remove him so my mother would continue as the purchasing member - unexpectedly she passed away 3 months later - and since it was very unexpected, we hadn't really gotten around to redoing all her personal and estate documents...the DVC was one asset that had to go through the probate process to pass to me as sole heir.

I have a local attorney here in S Florida that did all the probate filings, and all my personal estate documents, so he was also able to file the deed through Orange County. I wanted to make sure everything was filed properly per DVC rules, so I had him draw up the deed and sent it to DVC Member Administration to review before we submitted to the state, along with the death certificate and court order naming me personal representative of her estate. DVC got back to me to confirm the deed was in good order as written, so I signed and my attorney submitted to Orange County. DVC verified receipt of the court appointment and death certificate, and then verified the deed was received and filed, and a week later, they had the points transferred over seamlessly. Now two 'units' of points are all under my name, all considered original membership purchased points, I had two upcoming trips booked - one using their points and one using mine, in December and January - both reservations stayed as is, nothing was lost or canceled.

Just wanted to update any who may remember my initial inquiries, and to note that the process to transfer the ownership over to me was fairly easy, DVC was very helpful and accommodating to review all the documents before my attorney submitted them to the state, and once filed, everything was wrapped in less than a week.

Thank you. I'm coming up on the 1 year anniversary since my mother's death and it's still a little surreal. My stepfather's was expected as his health was ailing for years, but my mother's was out of the blue as she was in good health. But that's life sometimes.

I was worried about the DVC switch especially with trips already booked across both contracts, but they were very helpful and accommodating.
