Unfortunately, the only time I was able to get for O'hana on our upcoming trip is 9:15. Does anyone have any experience with eating late? Is your food still fresh and the service good or should I just forget it and try to get in on our next trip at a more reasonable time instead? TIA!

1. Yes, we have eaten there late in the evening several times
2. yes
3. yes
4. If you find the time unreasonable, then you could keep trying to find an earlier ADR (cancellations happen all the time) or choose a different restaurant for that evening (we enjoy Kona as well).

I have only eaten there late 1 time. It was around 8:50. The food was still wonderful and fresh. My only issue was the service was aweful that night. Other then then maybe being worn out from the evening it probably had nothing to do with the time!! I would still go back and eat late if it meant not missing Ohana!!!

as late as 8:30 (seated) and the food was stiff fresh and hot off the grill. They cook until the last guest pushes back from the table :)

It's actually "Ohana, not O'hana - They're not Irish.

I would skip it. There are better options elsewhere. Our last two visits have been similar to the experience of this review.

That wasn't the OP's question. I'm not even going to get into the corrections you decided were necessary.

We've had great experiences there. Our upcoming trip we have an 8:15 ADR and I'm expecting the food to be good as usual.

It's a great place to eat - one of our 'must do' places every trip. We have never had a bad experience there and have been many, many, times. But, there is no way we could eat that late. If you want something earlier, just keep trying, something will usually open up. Good luck! :goodvibes

We go every trip. So out of 9 or 10 meals, we've had two that we felt were pretty bad and both times it was the service, not the food. We've gone when it opened and as late as 9:00 and didn't notice a difference in the food quality:)

Sorry if the reply is off topic.

During our last visit, the table next to us had a sick child who vomited on the floor just after we sat down. During our entire meal, no one ever came to clean up the accident or clear their table when they left. The odor was so overwhelming that the servers began to avoid us and the guests at surrounding tables - some of whom commented loudly on the food and service quality issues.

We won't be back.

We actually have had better experiences eating at 'Ohana later in the evening than we've had during more normal dinner hours. Once the fireworks are over, the restaurant clears out. The pace of the meal is typically much more relaxed and the food is still very fresh. Don't let the mixed reviews scare you, it's a really good restaurant.

The first time we went to O'hana ( i did that just to irritate someone) O could only get a 9:15. I was disappointed on the time but kept it cuz I really wanted to go. Now that is the only time I will go. Watching the fireworks at 10 p.m. while eating our dessert was awesome! The food and service was great!

Great! So looks like you've made your point! :confused3

I've gone to a late ADR and a 5pm adr there. The later was just as good if not better than the first. It was great because we got to watch wishes too while they piped in the music . The kids were still able to do all the regular activities offered there as well. Ohana is a must do for us each and every time. I think the food is great, esp the salad, potstickers and dessert!!

This is exactly what I was going to say! We enjoyed the late ressie we had on our first trip to ohana a couple of years ago because of the quiet and relaxed atmosphere. We almost cancelled ohana for our trip last month because we had been hearing mixed or negative reviews, but decided to stick with it, and the food and service was just as good as our first trip - i just wish we had been able to get a later reservation, because the earlier dinner ended up being so much more hectic than our first visit.

Thanks for sharing your "Ohana experience (although it's completely irrelevant to the OP's question), but I think she was asking about 'Ohana. Hopefully, they'll have a better experience at the latter.

OP, we've been to 'Ohana for a late reservation, and I didn't find the food or service any different than our previous earlier dining experiences there. As a bonus, you may also be there just in time to watch the MK fireworks. Have a great trip!

Sorry, I didn't realize that my I had misplaced the apostrophe. I'll do better next time.

I think that I am going to keep trying for an earlier time but if I can't get one then cancel. I'm pretty sure my hesitation is more a personal preference thing. We usually eat dinner at 6 and all my other reservations are for no later than 7. I think that if I get there and am already starved and grumpy, it might negatively affect my experience LOL!

Thanks for all the replies, everyone:cool1:

I have a 9:15 reservation for 'Ohana, and I'm actually excited for it after reading that it is more relaxed and you are able to see Wishes. I was hesitant at first, but now I don't even want to change it! Just have a snack in the early evening to tide you over. I think it will be worth it :)
