My BF and I have reservations for our arrival night at Ohana at 9:40pm. Our plane gets us in at around 4 and we wanted to be able to spend a decent amount of time soaking in Magic Kingdom (always a first day tradition).

We LOVED Ohana last year and even though we dont have children we loved watching all the festivities which contributed to the fun atmosphere! I'm worried... because our ressies are so late is it going to be a dull experience? Has anyone eaten there this late? Thanks for any advice!!!!

'Ohana is such a fun restaurant all the time! The activities do wind down toward the end of the night; however, you can see the MK fireworks from the restaurant. 9:40 is a perfect reservation time for that. Be sure to be ON TIME if not a early - the CM's working as seaters are instructed not to seat anyone after 10:05 without the approval of the front of house and kitchen managers. If you would like to view the fireworks, ask for "FIREWORKS VIEW" verbatim - if you say window seat, they'll try to get you one, but the "volcano" at the pool blocks the view of the castle from some points in the restaurant. Table 31 is the best table for fireworks for a small party (2-3), tables 18 and 32 are the best for larger parties (6-8). And remember, being nice to whomever is checking you in helps a lot as far as getting a super good table - as you can imagine, those tables are in high demand. Sorry if this was more info than you needed!

We ate there this past June. We had 7:55 reservations on a Friday night. Our dd got to play children's games for about an hour or so -- but then they were over. You might not see as many children's games at your time, but since you're not traveling with any -- I would think watching the fireworks would more than make up for that!

We love Ohana. Its one of our favorite restaurants at WDW. We went there in Nov. 2006 and had a 9:45pm ADR. I personally don't like to eat so late, but that was the only time they had. I hate to say it but out of all the times we've been there, that time was the worst. The food didn't seem very fresh & it took them a long time to bring the meats over. Also when the meat was brought over, it wasn't hot and we didn't have much of a selection. It just seems like they were bringing us whatever was leftover. We were one of the last ones to leave because our server was really slow. It took him 15 minutes to bring us our check. I don't know if all this was due to a late ADR or just an "off" night. Anyway, I went back in Jan. 2007 and everything was great! In the future I don't think I would book an ADR after 8:30pm, but thats just me.

we had adrs for Ohana for 9pm and my dh thought I bumped my head:laughing: I told him it was b/c Wishes was at 10pm...we could watch the fireworks from our table..it was incredible. as we were walking to the car he had to admit "I was right" it was awesome. Plus I killed 2 birds w/one stone..he really liked the Poly and said he'd like to stay there sometime....now this Christmas we're staying at the Poly over Christmas:woohoo: my ds had a blast too. he was actually the one that spotted the castle before we did. :cloud9:

I wouldn't mind the late seating. The fireworks view alone is worth it to me. We have done late seating at Ohana in the past and it worked out very well for us. Its one of our fave places and we never miss eating there during a trip.

Ok... you all just made me feel so much better... (for some off reason I thought or was told wishes was at 9:00 (silly me) Now I'm really excited! Starting off the first night of our trip with one of our favorite restaurants AND a view of wishes :cloud9:

PoLy4LiFe!- Thanks SO much for the table advice! I will definitly ask for table 31! (funny thing is I'll absolutely remember it because in the restaurant I work in table 31 is the most popular table in the house! Woohoo

BaBeeCee14- Sorry about your bad experience (hopefully they were just having an off night... it happens) But we'll make sure to arrive a bit early (just in case) Thanks for the advice!
