"I'll only go once" I said. "I like to visit different places" I said. I'm planning my second trip to WDW. :) I went in mid May 2016 and it was lovely, just perfect; crowds and weather. This year, I'm having major surgery surgery around this time but I'll be fit and ready to go away any time from the end of October or anytime November this year. If I enjoyed mid May and didn't think the crowds were too much, which dates would you recommend? I can do the last week in October and any time in November.

It's the only time we go! We usually arrive in time to go to the last MNSSHP and stay for 14 days. Crowds are okay, a little heavy in EPCOT due to Food and Wine festival but nothing a good plan can't beat. Do avoid marathon race weekend, it gets pretty crowded in both EPCOT and MK, our solution is to go to AK or have a day off to enjoy the resorts and Disney Springs.

Visiting Oct 29th -Nov 9th ourselves. we are excited to be there this year for both Halloween and Christmas decor in MK! Likewise, water park(s) and Disney Springs will be our plan for marathon weekend. However, we made this plan only to keep the option for family members to participate in the running events. This won't be the case.

If we could have rescheduled, we would have gone a bit later, when Christmas decorations and event are more in full swing throughout WDW. My very personal preference would be to roll into town right after the Thanksgiving crowds head home.

Fall is wonderfully time to visit, no matter when you opt to go. I wish you a speedy and full recovery from your surgery and maybe we will all be soaking up the magic at the same time!

I went last year Oct 29th for 7 days. The weather was perfect, not too hot, and cool enough for a sweater at night. I loved seeing the Halloween decor AND Christmas decor.

we are going nov 27 to dec 2 all Christmas time stuff should be in full swing

This is the time we usually go. Weather is nice and the crowds used to be light. We have noticed a change the past two years with crowd size. We like to go during FW Festival in EPCOT and love MK decorations. You can see Halloween decorations and gradually watch Christmas decorations in the works.

We went 10/28-11/9 this past fall and the weather was great and we got both Halloween and Christmas at mk.

This year we are doing 10/28-11/4.

A good bit of the Christmas decorations will be up by the 2nd week in November so if you want to see them that's a great time to go. Also, we've always had great weather, not hot, no hurricane threats and little rain. You can usually still sneak in a couple pool days.

The first two weeks of November is my number 1 choice. I'm not lover of Autumn decor which seems to quickly disappear on Nov. 1. Everything transitions to Christmas during those two weeks. We hit a rough weather time (three days of cold and wind, three days of rain, but our last four days were as perfect as could be) in 2010, but that could happen any time of the year.

We went from 28 Oct - 4 Nov last year and had a great trip. MNSSHP on the 31st and then the Christmas decorations started going up the next day. The crowds were very manageable. We went to Epcot in the mornings before the food & wine crowds hit then jumped to other parks after a break. Its definitely going to be one of our favorite weeks to visit in the future.
