I am looking for experience with late evening ME service. We will be arriving at MCO around 10:15pm so we will need to pick up our luggage anyway. We will be very tired from a long day. Does anyone have experience with the wait time to get on the bus and leave MCO for WDW at this time of night? Do they wait around por a while until the buses get more full or do they leave at scheduled intervals? I do not want to wait around at night and I am contemplating hiring a car service to get to the hotel a little earlier so we can hit the sack for much needed shut-eye before an action packed day in the parks.

Thanks for taking the time to respond:goodvibes

Many have reported slightly longer waits for the bus when arriving later at night. There are fewer guests arriving, so fewer buses are dispatched.
If I were arriving at this time of night, I would go with a car service.

Thanks for the reply. This is what I was worried about. This will be our first night arrival and my sleep is worth the extra cost of a car service.

Does a car service pick up near the luggage carousels or does all ground transportation pick up down near ME? I have never even seen the luggage area at MCO so I am unfamiliar with the set up.

You will arrive at MCO on level 3. You go down a level, via the escalators, to level 2 where you will see baggage claim. When you hire a car service, the driver should be at the bottom of the stairs/escalator, waiting for you. He/she will help you retrieve your bags and then you all go down, via the elevators, to level 1..ground transportation. It's all very easy and painless.

I have flown in after 10 pm for our last two stays. We just flew in this past Thursday. Our flight arrived at 10:39pm, we got our one bag from baggage pickup and we arrived in our room at Pop Century at 11:30pm. I did not think this was bad at all. The flight in the fall arrived a few minutes earlier (maybe 10:15) and we arrived in our room at POR by 11:45 if I remember correctly. I would not get a car service. DME seems to work even better late at night.
