I have tryed to find a historic account of the weather in May in Orlando.

Anyone know of a place to find this information or have info to share??

I really only know about the very end of May (last week). My experience has been usually one quick shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon. Maybe last a half an hour. Occassionaly you may have a rainy day, but I've only seen this a couple times in the past 10 visits that I can remember.

According to Accuweather.com, normal high for the last week of May is 90, and normal low is about 68.

In 2004 it was 90 or above (98 a couple of times) every day from May 21 till the end of the month. No rain fell in that period.

In 2003 and 2002 days ranged from the mid 80s to the low 90s with about 1.5-2.0 inches of rain from the 21st on.

And in 2001 daily highs were again in the mid 80s to low 90s each day from May 21 through 31, but in 2001 there was about five inches of rain in those eleven days!

Hope this helps!

Bob

Wow no rain last year? I was there from the 28th to first week of June.. so maybe it was in June it rained. My memory aint what it used to be! :)

Chris,

It DEFINITELY rained the first week of June last year....2.4 inches on June 4, and 2.4 more on June 6. Also in between, about one-tenth of an inch on June 3 and June 5!

::MickeyMo We were there last May from the 12th to the 22nd. It only rained once for about an hour the whole trip! It was really wonderful. Definitely warm, maybe even hot. I wore capris a few times and was on the warm side. After that, I stuck with shorts. Nights were gorgeous. We were able to eat on the deck at Fulton's and it was fabulous! ::MinnieMo

We were there from May 16 through May 30 last year. We had NO RAIN. Our coolest day was 88 degrees. Our hottest 95. It was wonderful!! Crowds are low too....except Memorial Day weekend. I would say it is our favorite time to go. :wizard:

Another thought....bring a sweater for the evenings. It was never cold. But I used a sweater a couple of nights. Especially in the restaurants.

Always a quick shower, you are in Florida, usually over in less than an hour and almost always between 3 & 5:00 P.M. When we lived there, you could set your workbreak to when it would rain in the P.M. :hourglass

::MickeyMo That didn't happen when we were there in May. I would think that's more July/August weather. ::MinnieMo

We went last May- the 17th to the 24th I believe and it only rained one day for about 30 mins while we were eating lunch. I was hot during the day, but that's fine- the waterparks were a great break. I took a sweatshirt jacket for the evenings when we were inside air conditioned buildings. -Steph

Thank You so much for all the info, that will help the packing.
We have never been in May and it will be warmer than I thought. :sunny:

YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
