Late May Weather

We always go the last week of May through the first full week of June.

This is the typical weather during our stays: Temperatures are usually in the high 80s/low 90s. The humidity will be pretty high too. It will probably rain daily. Most times, the rain will stop fairly quickly.

Disney will usually have fans in the outside lines that blow on the guests as they walk by. Some of the fans have light misters on them. These are typically found in lines like....Festival of the Lion King, Kilimanjaro Safari, etc.

Don't let the heat or rain stop you though. I always take a small backpack and a couple of small mister fans. Our local Wal-Mart sells small misters that are about the size of a cassette tape. They have a clip on them so they can be clipped on your belt loop for easy carrying.

In our backpack, I carry large ziplock bags with each persons name written on them. Since we go to WDW every year, I save our ponchos and they will last for at least two trips. Don't wait until the last minute to buy a poncho as that is what everybody else is doing too. If you think it's going to rain, head into the nearest store and ask for a poncho. They normally have these behind the counter at each register. You won't find them just sitting on the shelves. Take along a Sharpie too and write your last name on the back of the poncho. Think football jersey. This will help you pick our your group from the crowd (at least from the back side).

When the rain stops, just shake off the ponchos and put them in the ziplock bags. Because you have your names written on each bag, it'll be easy to just pull them out if it starts to rain again. No wondering whose poncho is whose.

If you have a stroller, bring along several disposable ponchos you find in your local sporting goods department. Just tie the hat part into a knot and drape it over the stroller. This will keep the stroller nice and dry while you are in an attraction.

Didn't mean to go into such great detail but thought it might help you out.

Mickeystoontown - How are the crowds during that time. We go early in September but I am thinking of taking dd down for her 5th bday in 2009 and just wondering what it is like than. Been spoiled by the September crowds.

I don't know if we have just gotten used to the crowds but we don't think they are really too bad. You can definitely navigate through the parks.

The most popular attractions like Space Mountain, Mission Space, Soarin', Dinosaur, etc. will have waits of up to 120 minutes in the afternoon.
Just make use of Fastpass whenever you can and you'll be fine.

We take the Magic Kingdom in two days. We concentrate on one side of the park on one day and the other side of the park on the second day. But, then again, we want to see and do EVERYTHING in the park. If you were up to skipping many things like Hall of Presidents, the Riverboat, Tea Cups, etc., you could definitely see the park in one day.

We also take two days at Epcot. We like to really explore the Innoventions buildings and the countries and we know with two days, we can take our time. I think Epcot could be done in one day too.

Our visits to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom are one day each.

Just get up early and be at the parks at opening time or slightly thereafter. Don't take the time to eat breakfast in the parks. Just pick something up at your resort and eat it in your room while you are getting ready.

Hit the big "must sees" on your list first thing in the morning and utilize Fastpass for the others you don't think you'll be able to do in the a.m. or early afternoon hours. Just keep in mind that the Fastpass for some of the most popular attractions are sometimes gone by mid-afternoon. I have seen the Fastpasses for Winnie the Pooh all distributed by 1:30 p.m. No more for the rest of the day.

Just let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks for the GREAT info. Was hoping it would be a little cooler that early in the summer but that's what the pool is for.

We are going down also the last week of May, and it's HOT. This will be our 3rd time going Memorial Day week. The crowds are OK.

Last year we were in DW 5/21-5/28. It was perfect weather it was in the low 80's and just beautiful. I don't think humidity bothers me. It didn't seem very humid to me. The lines were not bad at all but I am used to June and August crowds.
