Is late March too crowded? weather this time of year? Please advise.

Extremely crowded, wouldn't catch me going during that time.

With spring breaks fluctuating each year you need to look at the calendar and see when Easter falls. We went two years ago the full week after Easter and it wasn't crowded at all and the weather was glorious.

my wife and i spent 3 days at akl prior to our march 28 cruise, and we had a great time in the parks (wed thru fri). things were a little busy, but we made use of fastpass, went early, and tried not to do everything. the weather was perfect: mid 80's during the day and high 60's at night, i think. i am sure things were very busy on the weekends, but we enjoyed our stay so much that we are planning to spend a week in march 2004 there. it beats the heck out of the june thru august summer madness!

Spring break for our school district is always the last week in March and we've gone to WDW almost every year. The weather is always glorious as Fran said. Warm but not too hot, pleasant evenings.

Again as Fran said, crowds vary a great deal according to proximity to Easter. It's past most college breaks and if Easter is more than a week away, it's not too crowded at all. llebrekniT has a poll going about this coming year and you can see the results so far. I'll try to bump it up for you. This coming year I don't think it will be bad as Easter isn't until April 11. However in 2005 Easter is March 27 and I wouldn't go during that week that year. Our youngest will be in college by then and we'll be trying a different week ourselves .:D.

Having never been to WDW in the summer (well, not since 1976) we usually go in March. The only time we found it BUSY!!! was 7 years ago when we went the week before Easter. Every other year we have found the crowds to be just fine. As you know, the parks are open later, the weather is beautiful and heck... you're in Disney World. I will take a crazy, crowded day at Disney to any boring, slow day at home every time.;)

If you ask me March is the best time to go for the weather. If your from the north 80 -90 degree days are a nice relief from the winter. We were there the last week of March 2000 and is was very crowded. You just need to do a little planning to make it work out.

Well, I just found out from the Universal board that march 22 is the week for spring break for tampa and kissimmee area (Orlandos spring break is apparently something like March 16).

I wanted to go for my birthday :( But I hate crowds.

Well, I don't know about your family but we all have gone from birthday "weeks" to birthday "seasons". Have your preliminary birthday celebrations locally and celebrate your birthday trip the week after Easter. Plan some PSs for special birthday events. We are celebrating my mother's 81st birthday two weeks past the actual date at WDW in November. She is delighted to be the center of attention for a month of festivities. I'd say you deserve the same.
