Late Lunch/Early Dinner near Boardwalk?

We’re going to be in a similar situation on our arrival day, except we’re staying at Boardwalk Inn. Would the recommendations in this thread be the same for BWI?

I ask because it seems like most are recommending places at the Dolphin. And I’m wondering if that’s because the OP is staying there or if those are actually the superior choice and worth walking over from BWI. Specifically, Pikabu or Fountain over Big River/ESPN?

Also not against walking over to BC/YC. The only thing off the table for us would be any fine dining since we’ll be with younger kids (although they aren’t picky otherwise).

I, personally, made the Dolphin recs to the OP as it would be most convenient to simply eat there and then head over to GE. What are you plans after lunch? I'm not a huge fan of the food at ESPN or Big River. They have good QS food at Boardwalk Bakery, but you would need to sit outside to eat. There is also a pizza window on the Boardwalk. IMHO, the food at none of these places is worth going out of your way for, so, if you are just looking for a basic lunch, I would just eat something at BWI.

Any of those restaurants are fine. I would look the menus over and see what you think would appeal to your crew.

We'll be settled in by around 3:30pm and will want to head to an early dinner. We'll just want to eat someplace nearby (Epcot Resort Area), but thinking it might be worth holding out until 5pm when Ale & Compass or Cape May open for dinner.

If that’s the case, I would consider Trattoria al Forno as well. It’s open for dinner and right on the Boardwalk.

ESPN Club is a decent place--standard pub food and good drink selection and only a short walk. I'd choose that over Cape May (we think Cape May is awful and it is super-expensive), but might consider Ale & Compass if you want to wait until 5. Haven't been to Trattoria or the Swolphin restaurants.

What about eating at GE? I’d pack some granola bars or muffins to snack on in the plane so you’re not starving when you land. Then eat at GE for something different.
