Hi all. We are taking our first trip to the Fort next summer (many times to the world.) My wife is a teacher and due to her school schedule, we wouldn't make it down there until June 20, which is later than we normally go.

Since we are staying sixteen days:banana: and this would take us into July, I am wondering if it might be better to go at the first of August.

I know it will be hot either way. I was just thinking maybe the crowds might be slightly better in August vs. late June/ early July.

Also, how bad is the rain in August.

I would appreciate all opinions, comments and experiences. Thanks.

WOW that is a tough one. I would personally vote for the later part of August if you wife could swing that,

The southern kids are back in school so not as crowded. Rain if it rains its only for a short period of time

June and July are very crowded and are peak season. Later part of August is not.

Good Luck,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, my wife has to be back for meetings the last couple weeks of August or I think we would go then.

We're also suppose to stop in Nashville on the way back through (to Michigan) to visit my wife's dad. We could probably stop on the way down and at least move us a little farther into August.

I can connect with HAVING to go to Disney at a particular time so may I offer a few suggestions......

1. DO NOT go to the MK on a Saturday and try to stay away on Sunday as well. It is the busiest park and the locals make the weekends that much busier. :scared1:

2. DO NOT go to the park that has the extended "Magic Hours" or whatever it is called. Everyone else goes on those days and the other parks are usually less crowded. You actually spend more time waiting in lines so the "extra hours" dont account for much. :teacher:

3. For a summer trip just plan to go back to the resort or another inside activity from around noon to 4 or 5 as it is so hot you will exhaust yourself.

4. Finally, FW is always a great place to go and spend a leisurely afternoon away from the crowds! :thumbsup2
