We will arrive in the Orlando Airport around 12:15 AM on Thursday, June 28. As a result we will get to Wilderness Lodge after 1 AM. Do I need to book a room for June 27? Any chance of checking in to a room at 1 AM? No Studios available on points at this time and I would have to pay cash to stay at WL. Cost is about $275.

We are staying in a Studio at WLV from Thurs to Sun. We then move to a 1 BDR at SSR for 3 nights.

Yes, if you want to have one before 4 pm on 6/28.

It depends. Yes, if you booked the night of June 27, they will have a room for you. No, if your first night is 6/28. IIRC, the earliest you can check in is between 6 and 7 am. It's possible that a room would be available/ready for you that early (6 or 7 am), but it's probably not very likely. I sure wouldn't count on it.

If it were me, I think I would be tempted to just stay at the cheapest place I could find near the airport (or at a value) that first night and then get as early a start the next morning as I could. Even if I had to rent a car for one day to do it, it would still be less expensive than paying $275 for a place to just sleep the first night.

Even though you are arriving on 6/28, that would be a reservation for 6/27. Like Carol said, if you are checking in on 6/28, your room is not guaranteed until after 4PM on 6/28.

Could you get a room at the airport??

At that time of the night/morning I would opt to stay at the Hyatt inside MCO so I could get rested and start fresh at 7 or 8 am. JMO. It's very nice to step off the plane and not even have to leave the airport.

I would not pay $275 for a room for 1/2 a night. One time I arrived late with friends, we stayed at a Sheration near the airport for like $75 (3 in the room), they had a shuttle to/from the airport. We caught the shuttle back to the airport in the morning and got our rental car (couldn't get a rental car at a decent price the night before). We were at CSR by 8:30am (and they had a ready room).

Another vote for the Hyatt -- it's great for those early a.m. flights, too!

If we stay at the Hyatt after a late arrival, can we still use Disney's Magic Express in the morning or are we better of making alternative arrangments.

Yes, you can still use ME. We have done this before and are planning on doing it again in May. Since we fly SWA we just make up a flight number and give them the time we will be checking in at the DME counter. We've never encountered a problem. Good luck!

We got a room at the airport Marriott for less than $60 on Priceline. this was a couple of years ago though. Their complementary shuttle was running very late and in the am we took in back to the airport. We drove a rental car to WDW.

Lounge chairs by the pool at wilderness lodge (use towels for blankets).

(I'm joking...... but a little part of me is serious. I know the pool is closed at night... is that just the acutal pool and swimming, or can you hang out in the pool area after hours?)
