Late dinner Chef Mickey or Whispering Canyon?

I am torn between an 8:30 ressie at WCC and an 8:45 at Chef Mickey's for dinner. I have never eaten at either and am looking for a special dinner option on our first night (we are staying at WL).

We are buffet people and my daughter did not really see anything at WCC menu that jumped out at her. I am worried however about being seated so late at Chef Mickey's. Is the food picked over? Will we be rushed out of there?

I would be concerned about Chef Mickey's too at that hour. Right now I have a 9PM there and am considering changing it only because it's a buffet. It's not like you get seated right away at the time of your reservation--I think you still have to wait sometimes.

Never done Chef Mickey's that late but have done WCC late. We are big fans of the skillet at WCC but it's awfully heavy food to eat late at night, lol. But you could order something lighter......

I don't think you can really go wrong there. I really like both.

Can't help you on the Canyon, but we've "closed down" The Chef a good number of times with no major issues. Same selection and quality as earlier meal times. One added bonus, a bit more face time with the characters.
We eat at least two Chef Mickey meals on every trip. As with most Disney food venues, alert the waitress or waiter dude immediately if you have concerns.

I think I am going to stick with Chef Mickey. I always wanted to eat there and we do like buffets.

Did the "kick you out" at 9:30 on the dot? We tend to linger over meals and if we don't start until 8:45 I don't want to feel like we have to rush to eat.
