Late dining at Disney question - still quality service/food?

I know generally going to a restaraunt near their last seating time is usually a bad idea for food and service. When it comes to being in Disney, has anyone found that to be an issue?

I was trying to space meals apart and found times like 8:30/8:45 for a restaraunt that's dinner is at, say, 5:00 - 9:30.

Should everything be fine or has anyone ever noticed any decline?

Thanks!

We had a few late dinner in May and they were no worse and no better then other times. The services was great at Yatchman and Ctricos when we were there for a reservation at 9 and 9:30pm. Can't help you with buffet tho

We don't usually have late dinners, but the few times that we have it has been fine.

We actually prefer late dinners, and have always been satisfied with the service and the quality of the food. As a pp said: no better, no worse.

We generally eat late since we come from the left coast (9-9:30 ADRs). We have never experienced poor service or food that we felt was less due to the time of day.

What we have often experienced is quieter restaurants. It's almost always adult only with half empty restaurants.

I like late dinners since we tend to have early lunches at 11:30 and then dinner at 8:30 or so. I have to say my trip last month we had an ADR at 'Ohana at 9:30. The food was perfect! We also dined there again on our last night when they opened at 5:00. The food was awful. I was shocked at the difference in the meals. We would not have gone back a second time if the first meal was so bad.

Also, the late dining means restaurants aren't as crowded and the servers are more relaxed.

I almost always eat at Prime Time Cafe when DHS closes. Although there's no difference (positive or negative) in food quality, the service is generally much better and funnier because the waiters have less people that they need to entertain and can generally devote more attention to you.

We did Crystal Palace for dinner at about 9:45 back in March and it was great, but not great at the same time.

There was only about 3 other tables filled in the room we were in (right side). No kids that I recall (besides mine!). Character interaction was great (I think they were really bored...)

They began breaking down the left side of the buffet while we were there, but the right side was open. Everything was hot and tasted fresh (no congealed gravy or crunchy rice, stuff like that). Meats were still being carved (and the pork was fab!).

The only downside was that while we were there, they broke down the sundae area, so there were no toppings available - just ice cream. Also they took the leftover cakes and pies from the left side and kind of shoved them all onto the right side to make them all fit. Very unappetizing, and this was the only part I was really bummed about. We ended up not having much dessert at all.

I don't know if we'll get a chance to go back in September, but we certainly won't OOP it again, like we did in March! Way too expensive to pay for.

Same here...It's just DH & I, so we prefer later seatings...less crowds too :)
(usually!)

Had a 2:45 pm Castle lunch and it worked out great. They were switching over to dinner so the bottom or main seating area was clearing out so we all sat in the tier area. Tons of great princess interactions! The tables in the main area began to have people being seated for dinner as we were finishing up-it went pretty seamlessly. We never felt rushed or wierd.
We also had an 8:45 pm Chef Mickey dinner-as long as you ask for the main seating area and not the side seating area it went great! The food was hot, the characters were fun.
