I have heard mixed info on the late night dining and the pirate party on the dream. Is it true that you may miss part of the pirate party if you have late dining?

Not usually. We had late dining on our last cruise. We skipped dessert, since the buffet at the party has dessert. We had plenty of time to get to the party and have a good location for the fireworks.

:cutie:

On the Wonder last year, we did miss the start of the Pirate Party because we had slow service. We really enjoy Pirate Party, so I think we may try to skip dinner service that night. My DH would be happy just getting pizza. We will see.

Here is what i am thinking.....We are doing a B2B with the 3 night part first. Thought about skipping the dining the night of the pirate night since we will have the chance to eat there again.......

We've had an issue on only one cruise, and that was because our serving team was the slowest thing I've ever seen. I honestly didn't understand what their issue was....but other families would be ordering dessert before we got our appetizers!

Normally, it is not an issue at all, except that you are not hungry for the pirate food.

Last year on the Wonder we had 2nd or late dinning, Pirate Night is the only night I wish we didn't.

Service was fine (get to you table early and that you are ready to order)

Now we didn't miss part of the show we even sat and chatted after we ate then scootted up to the party... now it was crowded but with me and DD3 we really were fine on the 5th floor.

The only reason I regretted late services is me being greedy... I was stuffed to really enjoy the Pirate Night Buffet that was set out....Turkey Legs, Nacho Bar, Creeps (I think) deserts, deserts, deserts as far as a pirates eye could see.

Now I just could not pass up the treasure chest of food. So I took a few things back to the room. So, if you have late dinning, save room for the Pirate buffet on the deck 4 of the Wonder. They opened the food line after the fireworks and some dancing.

In conclusion:
Get dressed up. Head to the picture lines to get pictures as the 1st dinners are headed to eat. (Pirate night photo lines looooonnnnngggg)
Come dressed to Dinner :thumbsup2
Get to dinner early :hourglass:hourglass
Eat.... But not to much popcorn::
Scurry up to the party get a good spot :tiptoe:
After fire works (I danced a bit with DD3 then she was ready to ditch me and head back to the clubs) :dancer:
Get to deck 4 and get ready for a Pirates Feast pirate:
Make sure you pack your Tums  :sad2:

I thought there were 2 Pirate Parties?? One gearing more for the younger crowd, and one a little "spookier" and more like the movies for the older kids...and me....

There are the pirate night activities on the pool deck which includes fireworks, food, etc. This is family friendly, open to everyone. There is also a much smaller activity in the Oceaneer's Club for the younger set.

On the 4 day on the Wonder 1 Pirate Party (2010)

Now on the Pirate Night, they have all sorts of Pirate activities in the Clubs for the kids. They paint the kids faces, bandannas, Captain Hook comes to visit...But not a party per say

Pirate Night party is not really scary it is really for the whole family.

Now after the deck party/fireworks... you can take the little ones back to the club and head back to the party or head down to the adults only club...

But just one party.

Y'all are both correct. :)

There is only the one party on the Wonder and the Magic.

But on the Dream, there are now two parties: an earlier one with the characters, more geared toward kids (between the two dinner seatings) and a later one that is spookier with Jack Sparrow and ghost pirates that is late night (with the fireworks).

:thumbsup2

We had the late dinner seating on our June Dream and were able to see the early kid-oriented show before going to dinner, and then back up to see the fireworks afterwards, with time to spare.

Grrrrrrrr! FH wanted to do Palo on night 3 (Pirate Night of our upcoming 5 night repo cruise) but I wanted to try the Pirate Night menu because when I looked at all of the menus, Pirate Night one was my favorite! But now that I'm seeing that if you have late seating, and you don't have a speedy dinner crew, you might end up missing part of the Pirate Party and/or not get a good view! :( Now, I'm wishing I'd listened to FH because we could have gotten an early seating at Palo and had no problems at all! But Shhhhhhhhhhhh. Don't tell him that! ;)

We always have problems with our 2nd seating, and have to skip dessert at least to get to the party (almost) in time..but we have been sailing the magic upto now.

Is the late party with Jack only for adults on the dream or can everybody go ? I'm sure our little Jack won't want to miss the 'real' Jack ..:yay:

Both Pirate parties on the Dream are for everyone, My dd (8) & my ds (5) loved them both. They have a dance party over the covered pool after the fireworks then they showed Pirates of the Caribbean on the tunnel vision. My kids had a blast at the 2nd one & we had 2nd dining & I had time to go back to my room & change before the fireworks. On the 3 nt cruises on the Dream, they don't have a Pirate Menu in the restaurants, just in Cabanas. I guess so you can have the normal restaurant food since you only get to eat at each one once, which we were at EG & it's food was by far my fav!

That's what I was hoping for!!

Yes, it certainly can be done. I would pay attention to your table servers the nights before Pirate Night and note what time you're finishing. If you think there's a danger they are going too slow for your taste, then either gently remind them you want to get up top in time for the fireworks, or just opt out altogether and go to Cabanas for dinner.

Will Cabanas also be having the pirate night menu? Or is it different?
