Late December BUF flights

Folks & Friends,

We have our DVC all booked for New Year's Eve in a 2BR @ SSR with our good friends -- now just to book flights.

AirTran and JetBlue have opened their dates well into January -- I'm getting a return airfare of $260.90 US w/ AirTran. JetBlue is over $300US.

As we all know, Southwest has released dates to Oct. 27 and I'm not expecting to see anything for December until July rolls around.

Just wondering what sort of New Year's airfares folks were able to get last year. It would be comforting to get the AirTran airfares and be done with it and the dollar is right for us.

Any remarks, comments, suggestions from the Disboard horde?

Last December we flew for $465 US for 5 of us on SW. Our dates were Dec. 10th to the 17th. I can't remember what the end of December prices were like.

Actually, quite a bit of help -- sounds like it will be worth waiting for SW fares to come out in a month or so. However, I just won't have the guts to wait for a DING! fare for Dec. 30.

DH flew MCO-BUF on Dec 31. When the fares were first released for this date (mid-Aug), SWA only made available the more expensive fare types (ie. promotional fares and internet only fares were unavailable). I forget exactly what I paid for him one way , but I think it was about $140ish US. Going down to MCO though (Dec 17 BUF-MCO), we were fortunate enough to get a ding and the fares going down were about $45 OW plus taxes and fees.
